For the first 20 minutes we were looking very comfortable, and putting them under some pressure.

I thought to myself "This has got Sunderland goal written all over it".
Sure enough ....

In previous years the game would have swung away from us at that point, but we regrouped nicely.

So the few games prior to Swansea, we play a bit below par but get decent results - lots of posters blame Allardyce.

Today we play very well and are unluckily denied the extra 2 points - lots of posters blame Allardyce.

I can only conclude that have to win every single game in fine style for these idiots to give our manager a break. I suspect even then they won't.

"Could certainly do with Noble in the midfield again though, and we're also seeing good things from Nolan too, so I'd be more tempted to bring in Noble for Kuyate when possible. "

I was pondering on what Kouyate brings to the team, and concluded we may as well have Noble instead.

Double happy with a point, do LCFC next week and a brilliant season so far.

Good to be in another full away end, with the support singing off the same hymn sheet. There's a definite togetherness within the the club and fans right now.

Enjoyed the game as far as it was entertaining.
Could certainly do with Noble in the midfield again though, and we're also seeing good things from Nolan too, so I'd be more tempted to bring in Noble for Kuyate when possible. That's pretty minor because we're playing the right way and I can't grudge the team at all when we were done by a dive and a shitty linesman today, that's all.

I'd also go with Valencia and Sakho up front next week, but at least we have the options. It was great to see both of them AND big Andy all on at the same time today, proving Sam is now willing to go for the win away from home, where in the past we'd be defending that point.

Not too disappointed with an away point against 12 men. Bring on next week.

Well, I think that Song and Noble make a splendid couple. Very complementary.

Re: Sunderland v West Ham - Official Match Thread 1-1FT
The term midfielder covers several roles. In the role played by Song the only WHU, player since the Premiership started, to come close is Parker imho.
