Good goal by Lee and I just saw his interview. I was really impressed with his composure and honesty, he seems very down to earth and I wish him well. Great to see a young player with a good attitude like his.

Yes, we can. The squad list deadline for the next round is tomorrow midnight, so Ogbonna will be able to be added.

No basis for an appeal against Sakho's red in that clip.

No chance of there being a second camera at the game, is there?

Can we add more players to the squad/make alterations for the next round or is it as you were for the first round?

Classy goal, that. Good team move and a tidy, composed finish.

Re: FC Lusitans v West Ham - Official Match Thread 0-1 agg (0-4)
We should of scored more goals in both legs obviously.
Nerves in the first leg and a very dirty cynical opposition (but what were we to expect when the gulf in class was so extreme) and the sending off stunted our threat.
To be honest it was almost perfect, if we had won 6-0 and 5-0 in both the legs we would be going ape about what we were going to achieve this year.It will keep the youngsters especially grounded. They will still have to work hard to impress Slaven and that is what we want more than winning by a mile.
For the 1st leg at home Westley has said 1 or 2 more 1st team players will play.We also have a couple of friendlies around both legs.
I think we need a couple of strong players around the youngsters, who I think we should keep in the line up.Morgan and Jarvis can play in the friendlies at home. They are not strong enough to protect and stand up against lower teams who will come to kick and fall over to intimidate the ref.
Let's put out a team that will settle the tie in the first leg in front of another sell out

My team

Adrian

O'Brien
Tomkins
Burke
Page

Kouyate
Poyet
Noble
Payet

Lee
Zarate

subs
Randolph
Oxford
Cresswell
Cullen
Parfit-Williams
Reid
Maiga

Re: FC Lusitans v West Ham - Official Match Thread 0-1 agg (0-4)
I think there are a lot valid reasons/excuses depending on how you want to take them as to why we failed to do as well as other European sides against this lot but the bottom line is that we did what he did in a lot of the early rounds of the cups in the last the few years.

We put out a side that was usually good enough to progress while we figured out some things about players (Morrison had the ability to do some great things and Diarra did not want to be here, for instance.) We rarely won by a lot but often progressed while protecting parts of the squad.

We will have to step up the selection and the organisation of the play, though I hope that we have enough reinforcements that our second side is not just kids and the unwanted. The divisive complaining we had before and is emerging a bit on this thread is probably not helpful to that process but what do I know.

I was really disappointed with the antics of Lusitans, lots of off the ball kicking, plenty of diving and lots of encouraging the ref to book or send players off.

Some people are just not happy unless they are bashing the club about something. I know we didn't win 12-0 but does it really matter? A team predominately made up of kids and fringe players, through to the next round with no injuries. Plus we are going through a transitional period, trying out new tactics etc. These games were for nothing but fitness as far as I'm concerned - we were always going to win.

Jesus, it's like an online crèche on here sometimes.

Their stadium looks strangely a lot like the one at my little brother's high school.

Nothing of any real note can be taken from this game. It was a win and looked a good performance from Lee.

But it was lacklustre overall and definitely more of a fitness game.

Seems like the ref had a shocker for the red card and the pen.

Anyone recognise themselves in the shots of our fans? :)
