I heard some rumour today that Antonio was playing with strapping around his ribs which were badly bruised from the weekend?

Might account in part for his sub par performance although not the decision making.

Agreed. But even then between Nordtveit, Ogbonna and Reid there should have been enough defenders there. My feeling is that Ogbonna wrongly chooses to step up alongside Nordtveit rather than tracking the runner, which means Reid has to cover across leaving the free man to score.

All the possible action was through the wings, and when we did get the ball it was stopped dead with no blody overlap. And so slow, it was like watching a team play for time or a draw, has Bilic been taking advice from Fat Sam?
We had no creativity in the centre, wish we had signed Coric as an alternative to Payet/Lanzizni.
Hoping the new fella fits this role,
Also hoping that Tore learns that once you try to turn the player with the same technique a few times they will get wise. Like every match I've seen this one-trick pony move
Who will take a bet on Valencia in the starting 11 on Sunday in front of Fletcher? I think some of us will be bloddy furious/baying for blood if this happens!

I've watched their goal again nothing wrong with Bryams ball and Burke could have done slightly better but their defender gets lucky with the clearance...

The real culprit is tore he just watches the goal scorer run past him and does nothing byram who is higher up the pitch has to race back to stop him while tore is just standing there

First half we were inactive and sloppy.. Second half their keeper had a worldly!!! We had about 6-7 clear cut chances they put away a half chance...

Still think the club are more than happy about not going anywhere in a competition that could put 15 or more games into your season. Sure they give us the usual lip service. But the real action for them is the league. And the higher up we are. The better advertising it is for the brand.(Rolls eyes.)

Which is a shame. Because they is a couple of real nice cities in that group.

What a shambles my 8 yr old daughter's first game (did 250 mile roundtrip) she was so excited when finally exiting Stratford station and all the crowds heading to the shiny new stadium. As we took our seats I was delighted seeing her reactions to this first, couldn't help casting my mind back to my first at U.P mid 60's and thinking although it's more capacity I wish it were on or even near the scale it was "back then", anyway perhaps the atmosphere will improve in time. The Match was weird we dominated yet lost and I hope Valencia for obvious reasons never play's for us again. Fletcher head and shoulders above the rest. Impressed with Byram when he played his debut for us but since then I'm having doubts plus it was his mistake that set them off to score. Antonio's work for us game after game is immense he like most work better when playing with good "switched on" players. Too many seemed switched off last night. We're in disarray due to lack of squad quality / depth. Trying to remain optimistic that once everyone returns from injury and the new players bed in we'll be ok. Not really looking forward to next game though.

I'd agree one mac that we picked a strong side bearing in mind the injuries, that's what makes it all the more disappointig, it doesn't really matter how strong a side you play, if you turn up 'expecting' to win generally you'll get bitten on the backside (been our problem as long as I can remember and I still haven't worked out the answer!)

They came to do a job and they did it. Aided by some poor refereeing. They got the first goal, shut up shop, fell over at every opportunity and time wasted and the ref fell for it every time

It just wasn't going in for us last night
