New RB in the summer is up there with a CM and Striker

Having a threat down BOTH flanks would improve us massivly

He's an odd one. He looked absolutely brilliant for Leeds when he was there. Genuinely looked like a kid that with some coaching and beefing up would be a top class PL player.

But he has not improved. His defending is questionable which it was at Leeds but there he was a flying full back and getting to the by-line and whipping balls in.

But for us his distribution especially as you say with crosses is poor.

And I am not sure if he is a vegan or anything but he still looks like a 17 year old. He's slight and gangly and doesn't look like he's ever been near a protein shake and a tuna steak in his life.

On Byram

The second Shrewsbury game was so frustrating for me. Both he and Musuaku did decent down the wings and beat very slow defenders then put in crosses that literally did not end up near the box.

Never been a great defender because he is on a card in half the games he plays.

Would love him to contribute and Zabaleta to bring him along but worried as well.

Pretty much sums it up for me too.

An utter shambles of a performance. Sending off, injuries. Was just a woeful day all round.

Byram too is a major issue for me. Had high hopes for him but, as you say, each game looks like his first. I genuinely believe his days are numbered at the club in the summer.

"To go to a league 1 side and lose without registering a shot on target is disgraceful"

I'm not sure I ever remember a WHU team with such a lack of attacking intent. 0 shots on target against the Goon home and away and Shrews and Wigan away. That's 4 games in less than 2 months.

Add to that 1 goal against League 1 opposition in 300 mins of Football and it's a pretty dire position we're in.

Still the situation is perfect for the sort of Manager we have though. We won't have to go at Palace or Brighton and will just sit back and defend, looking for the odd set piece goal here and there.

My two pennies.....

To go to a league 1 side and lose without registering a shot on target is disgraceful

Said last week the kids would need to senior players to play well around them then none of them turned up. Thought Ogbonna at the back was ok and Haksabanovic looked lively when he come on but rest of them what a joke.

Not sure why we're playing 7 defenders i think it was at one point against a league 1 side?!?!? We finished the firtst half with Oxford, Cullen and Byram as our CM's...wheres the creativity in that. Then at HT why take off Zabaleta and leave Byram on the pitch?

Byram for me is the worst footballer in the whole squad, every time he plays he looks like a 17 year old making his debut. He has been here two years, not progressed, contributed very little and i've no idea what his best position is. He is never in a million years a premier league footballer need to shift him on asap.

The Arthur sending off killed it...stupid from him and he will be missed massivly for 6 games but everyone makes mistakes he deserves another chance

The pen didnt look a pen but if it stayed 1-0 with 10 men we didnt look like threatening at all

Finally the two up top were woeful. Chicarito had a lack of effort and Martinez a massive lack of qualilty. With the injuries we have we look like we seriously lack goals. Just as we looked like we were getting comfortable and out of it I now think we'll be amongst the teams going down to the wire especially if we lose to Palace and Brighton. Im going both and they are looking like a massive fucking chore at the moment...

I do not blame Moyes, he could have picked a stronger side, but it was a side that should have won
Really disappointed all the same

Watching the Cardiff v Man City has got me remembering Ninian Park.
that is what I miss..proper grounds..sterile a small as fuck now..it was a naughty place to go.
we went up there twice in the space of a few wks...league and cup..proper away days.

fair play the Taff's. .one of best to turn up at ours..probably had the best of it tbf

Re: ⚽ Wigan v West Ham - Official Match Thread
So many have short memories..
but understandable after a shocking display. .no desire to win is unacceptable. .a mix of that and a patched up side was always going to do for us.

Moyes is on a 6 mth contract..with only one obvious objective..

I was hoping he would treat us with more respect..and at least give it a go..but alas..

But let's remember also our previous over the yrs..with full strength sides being embarrassed and also showing us nothing.

It really isn't nothing new

I gave up after the second goal as well, totally laughable.

Wigan for me is up there with Reading and Oldham at grounds where we mainly lost and had fans that were totally annoying and utterly rubbed it in whenever they beat us.

My son just showed me the replay of it, absolute joke penalty. Not that it would have made any difference, but how that was given is ridiculous.

Re: ⚽ Wigan v West Ham - Official Match Thread
It wasn't a penalty, he had his elbow tucked into his body with his forearm forward as you do when running, the ball struck his elbow, was worse than the WBA awarded against Arsenal recently.

I'd given up after the disallowed goal to be honest, not even bothered to watch the highlights so got no idea myself about the penalty.

Buster, I never knew he was sent off either, wasn't sure what the penalty was for as well?

Re: ⚽ Wigan v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Not once during that game did I have any confidence that we could get anything. The only upside is that I didn't even realised Masuaku had been sent off until I got home because I was finishing my beer, thought it was odd that I couldn't seem to count 11 players in the second half...

Oh, and those cunts need to start acknowledging the fans that make the effort when we lose and not just when we pick up points.

I've been to two away cup games, the Arse and Wigan and in both games, we didn't register one fucking shot on target

Thanks Blair
