Half the reason Mark Noble hasn't got senior caps is because he's a West Ham fan.
When he's got decent players in front of him he looks a miles better player.
If he hadn't stuck with us in our relegations, he would've had decent players in front of him more often.

Given that John fucking Joe Shelvey played for England, Noble was always mediocre enough to win a cap, but what would that have gained West ham.

Noble always been best linking with attackers. Some mobile and quality defensive midfielders behind him would have allowed him to flourish, given him more freedom. He has also suffered from a lack of quality in front of him. We’ve seen the best of him when he played with Bellamy, Tevez and Payet. He was not out of his depth with those players, in fact he looked more at home with them.
It was good, proper and beautiful that it was him scoring a goal like that, that officially saves the season.

I always think Noble has played out of position in Defensive Midfield...
He has always done it without complaint but I always thought that his best games have been as a link man further forward - he is not an attacking midfielder nor is he a defensive midfielder - somewhere inbetween - but modern day tactics don't really accomodate players like that so they tend to find or learn another role.
Terry Venables Christmas Tree formation would have suited him better - two defensive midfielders with the central midfielder pushing forward - him

The goal that Noble scored will go down as one of the most iconic in West Ham's history along with Brian Robson's goal vs Eintracht Frankfurt, Frank Lampard (senior) vs Everton with the corner post shuffle, Paolo DiCanios wonder volley Vs Wimbledon & his where was Bartez at Manu
In reality, it was a weak Leicester side already on the beach but we did ok
Nobles goal (along with Obiangs at spurs) were the 2 highlights in a dreadful season for us
