yeah I looked again and I think you're right. The commentator got it wrong. Even so should have been cleared before they scored.

I thought it came off the Everton player.

Lanzini is the key here. I don;t know if he's been affected by injuries but he's looked like he really couldn't be bothered at times this year. He's only really been the player we know he can be vs Stoke away and yesterday. Been strolling in lots of other games.

Shrewsbury replay being the prime example. He barely jogged anywhere until about 70 minutes when he seemed to realise there would be another half hour's work if we didn't score.

Just as well Moyes didn't say that about Rice, or half this board would turn up at his house with pitchforks and flaming torches...

No idea Swiss. There were a few mistakes for their goal

Rossal

Rice's mistake led to their goal. Why did he head it back and not into touch?

Thought Noble had another good game. but Sam set his team up wrong which put no pressure on Kauote or Noble til the second half.

Good game and good result but we came away from the match reckoning that the main difference between us and them was that our keeper played better. If we’d had Pickford and they’d had Adrian It’s likely Everton would have beaten us.

Oh and Rice was superb again. Will be some player

Good win and easily our best performance at home this season.

Movement off the ball, the quick passing, playing it from the back and through the midfield, Lanzini and Mario playing within 10 yards of Arnie, Lanzini turning up! ...........why didnt we do all of this in october???? so frustrating but plenty to build on with a strong summer of recruiting

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Everton - Official Match Thread
Kouyate is the most frustrating player ever. Two decent games in the last two when he showered he can be decent when he wants to be, reminds me a little too much of Diame. Good performance with the pressure off and some lovely goals which begs the question why they couldn't do it more often.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Everton - Official Match Thread
Rice has been the most impressive in receiving the ball and carrying the ball out from the back.
Has helped us get the ball to feet in midfield and allowed Lanzini to receive the ball and run at the back four and play with Joao Mario.

Felt that Zabaleta showed his age in the last few games (understandably) and we need a younger more athletic player at right back.
Maybe as he develops Rice could even play that defensive midfield role in front of a BACK FOUR if we can add that right back.

What a difference today was to most of the season, playing it out from the back instead of hoofing it up the pitch and losing possession, playing some great football without fear, obviously we need to strengthen the squad but we have got some decent players so it doesn't need a wholesale clear out imho. Moyes was interviewed on radio 5 as I drove home and said if he stays he wants the owners to give him the resources to give the fans what we demand, I took that to mean a more attacking positive brand of football, bloody hope so!

Haha, so Lurch pilots us into a second crack at Europe, following his excellent record setting PL performance, and we turn up and fail miserably to get anywhere managing to look comparatively unfit, clueless and unmotivated.

For me each of our last three managers have thrown cup run possibilities.

Could have been a different story if we'd have made it to the group stages, instead of throwing the Europa League for a second time.

Might have kept Payet at the club for a start.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Everton - Official Match Thread
The second one does, considering he qualified us via an excellent league campaign.
