My concern would be that an improved performance (not result) does NOT guarantee that being taken into the next game, whose to say we won't revert to a Bournemouth type of performance against Wolves?

This team is going to have to win games by playing exciting, expansive football. We're going to have to get behind them big time, because if they go into their shell because of the negativity of the fans in the stadium, were fucked big time.
This won't be like Allardyce teams who's game plan is to sit back anyway.
I'm sure you're probably just voicing your frustrations on here and that's fair enough - I'm fucked off, believe me. But, after that Arsenal performance I see hope. If I'd seen as perform like we did against Liverpool I'd have still have faith, but it would of been tested.
We have to show a bit of faith in MP - because what's the alternative?

You mean the settled TEAM, better than the sum of their parts Bournemouth that have played together for a couple of years, finished above us, didnt lose to us last season and have a great manager?
Yes we should be beating them at home, but because they have a small ground doesn't mean they're a walk over anymore.

Take your equation into the Bournemouth game.
I'd expect an established Premier League side with £100m-odd new signings; a £10m-a-year multiple-trophy-winning manager and a club who pulls 57k crowds every week to beat a side with a ground capacity of 11,360 with a an ex-player as manager at Home.
We lost 1-2. Wolves have excellent players and ground out results against Man City and Everton so quite why you think its a home banker is beyond me.
Like I said last week we will hand Arsenal their first win of the season and then we will donate Wolves their first win of the season. I think we probably will do exactly that

Wolves nearly lost to Everton, and nearly lost to Man City but they didn't did they? They ground out results irrespective of the circumstances during the games.
They also smashed Leicester to pieces but couldn't score - hit the woodwork 3/4 times during the game and dominated play. But lost 2-0.
They are no mugs - have some good players - and we seem to struggle against even the most impotent sides. They play good attacking football and will cause us problems all over the pitch.
It's embarrassing to think that the Wolves game isn't a banker, but it really isn't. As the Bournemouth game proved

the whole side has a loser mentality - as do the vast majority of fans " we played really well and were unlucky to lose 3-1" fcuking do -what?! Im tired of watching us lose
Teams all over the PL dig out results/hold onto leads. Fuck me watford have already got 30% of the points they need to avoid the drop - "oh theyve only played brighton/palace/burnley" you may well say - well have a look at how many points we got against those sides last year and ask yourself whether we can i) keep a clean sheet ii) Beat the mighty brighton/etc
I just cannot see us putting three /four wins in a row together because every game we let in 2+ goals , regardless of what players and tactics and manager
October comes and we have 1 point on the board lets see how upbeat everyone is then.

Saturday was just plain bad luck at a bad time for us.
Arnie should've had us 2 or 3 up at half time and we looked well comfortable. Bad luck then him going off injured and the own goal.
They aren't the best Arsenal side I admit but we matched then. To lose 3-1 was criminal. But its fine margins at this level.
I liked a lot of what I saw and we move on.
Simply have to beat Wolves now though.

Hated losing but gotta be honest, I can't remember the last time I enjoyed watching SOME of the football we played on Saturday.
If this is where we are heading we need to get behind them. It's not as if it's clueless hoofing and Anderson and Arnie could rip new arseholes into some teams this season.

It's completely understandable, that were not happy/fucked off at losing 3 games on the trot and conceding 3 goals.
But for fuck sake, you're grown men, stop the flapping and doom and gloom as if we're about to be relegated - It's embarrassing.
Do none of you remember the season with Tevez? Just been beaten 4 - 3 at home against Tottenham, about 10 points from safety with 7/8 games to play, most of us (myself included) thought we was dead and buried - looked what happened in the end.
We saw enough fight and quality on Saturday, to show that we
can turn it around. We've gone from best part of 10 years ( bar a season and a half) of negative/ safety first football, to playing exciting, expansive football - it's going to take time. I've said this elsewhere, were a work in progress.

I don’t think West Ham have earned the right to expect to beat anyone yet.
But I do think we’ll beat Wolves, and we certainly shouldn’t fear them at home.
