"Skinflint owners failing to spend again!" Well, not exactly.

Global Sports Salaries Survey is out again for this season, and we are 8th. Not much to remark upon, IMHO. I'm a bit surprised Everton pay more on average than us. But that's about it.

BTW: average salary in the Prem is £2,990,726.

Pressing questions remain:
- would you live in Huddersfield for £1.2m per annum?
- why do people call massive bank transfers "wages" as if it's notes in an envelope?
- Why are our players such shit value?

ANNUAL AVG ANNUAL PER PLAYER

1 Man Utd £6,534,654
2 Man City £5,993,000
3 Chelsea £5,020,004
4 Liverpool £4,862,963
5 Arsenal £4,853,130
6 Tottenham £3,515,778
7 Everton £3,252,690
8 West Ham £3,189,333
9 Crystal Palace £2,757,000
10 Leicester £2,710,710
11 Southampton £2,669,333
12 Bournemouth £1,989,520
13 Watford £1,775,172
14 Wolves £1,757,600
15 Fulham £1,727,440
16 Brighton £1,695,040
17 Newcastle £1,650,133
18 Burnley £1,603,197
19 Huddersfield £1,238,000
20 Cardiff £957,471

too many big earners not pulling there weight i,e carroll, reid and hernandez. 3 of our biggest earners and I would not even notice if they had left.

they alone must be costing us 300k a week.

We’ve just got a new manager and had a massive squad overhaul. It was always going to take a while to settle.

I suspect that we’ll be in the top ten by the end of the season.

We should be expecting a lot more then based on this!!
We are seriously underperforming on those salaries.

Owners are shit!

Eh? It actually does the opposite. It clearly shows that they they're basically paying around the same level as us and Everton and nothing like the other teams challenging for the top 4. According to this they're way behind Arsenal and their wage bill is close to half that of Man Utd.

Looks about right.

Looks about right to me, but as ever we are about the only team who consistently punch below our weight....

Kind of puts the lid on all this bollocks and myth about Levy not paying big wages and the mythical wage structure at Spurs?

It could be worse, it could be Terence Brown’s old holiday camp at Sussex Beach (I know, I had some of those vouchers that the club used to give out and I stayed there! 😂😂)

As a league table that won't be far off - after the next 9 games we'll be top 10, probably around 9th and should hopefully push on to challenge the 7th / 8th position if we can strengthen in January and get Lanzini & Yarmolenko, Wilshere all playing well.

Exactly, 4Ever.

Except we're only in that league position (Everton to a lesser degree) IN OUR HEADS. It's a very blunt measurement, but even so.

Wages rolls of the tongue better than ‘massive bank transfers’

Re: Premier League Salaries: West Ham 8th
So we pay 62k per week on average, and have offered our best centre mid who is on 3k a week and 19 with all the top clubs having a sniff a 21k deal and are haggling.

Penny wise pound stupid our owners. Almost like they WANT the bids to come in.

Yeah, but don't forget that our stars have the choice and use of any of the holiday homes the club has at Jaywick.

- would you live in Huddersfield for £1.2m per annum?

Absolutely! I’d even live with my wife and kids to guarantee the money

- why do people call massive bank transfers "wages" as if it's notes in an envelope?

Aren’t quoted contracts mostly PAYE as it’s too fucking hard to hide all the money sloshing around in top flight football in England?

- Why are our players such shit value?

We’re West Ham. It’s always been this way
