Still can’t understand why var were looking into it when sheff Utd players weren’t even appealing for anything. Do they look at every goal hoping to find a reason to disallow it

Hopefully they make some serious changes with Var next season including this fucking handball rule.

Agree with you Alf, think everyone is in agreement that something needs to be done with VAR/rules, on Moyles think he got the setup right to deal with their overlapping full/centre backs lets see what new additions he can bring in.

Jeremy Ngakia is a full back mainly on the right .He also plays on the left. He has been a regular this year.
Both Cardaso and Rosa have been excellent this year, Bernard Rosa especially . He's filled when needed to right across the back line. But is more impressive down the right flank and has a great shot on him.A mature player who has had to help several young defenders when called up.
I'll play him against Everton.

Was watching a few old games on You Tube earlier from the 80's and in particularly the 2-1 win over Man Utd in 85/86. The League was awash with home bred talent back then compared with today and half the West Ham team back then would be England regulars now if purely based on ability. The pace of the game, technique, the ability to kick with both feet, bravery, effort, finishing, far better than some of the dross served up today and even Wally Walford was pinging in better crosses than the lot these days and all played on heavy pitches.

Masuaku Cresswell Xabaleta need crossing practice...
Haller not physical enough in the area...too many flickons to no one...
Snodgrass should have been on earlier...
Noble blowing out of ass second half....
Shefgield created little...

Takashi, some places say he’s a right back , others say he’s a forward so I’m not too sure. I make you right though, Moyes needs to stand up to the board but I doubt that’s going to happen , if he accepts the board telling* him who he can on his staff he’s hardly going to march into their office and demand funds for players. But then we knew that anyway.

Re: ⚽ Sheff Utd v West Ham - Official Match Thread
I think he plays wide right of right back, and we start as I know (when I looked on soccerway) hadn't scored a goal this season, not for the u23s. I don't blame moyes for the shit squad he's been left, but he needs to open his trap and get what he/we need before it's too late

Re: ⚽ Sheff Utd v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Takeshi, I thought ngkakia was a forward?.Considering the amount of youngsters on the bench he might well have been the only striker available.

Re: ⚽ Sheff Utd v West Ham - Official Match Thread
alf, you still don't get my point. yes, we were solid and almost ground out a result but what other premier league manager goes in to a match picking just one centre forward in a squad of eighteen? even allardyce at his worst had a second striker at least on the bench. that approach will not achieve anything, and I'm not talking about cup wins, europe or glory. I'm just talking about staying in the division. you're crackers if you think grinding our way to safety is the answer, as it's been proved plenty of times that once we go behind its game over

Arthur.... given his preferred position... plays as per normal like a complete and utter fucking idiot... so hopefully the gaffer will realise the bloke is simply not good enough

Re: ⚽ Sheff Utd v West Ham - Official Match Thread
No complaints about our setup last night, the game highlighted a lack of depth and a stark lack of pace in the squad

I was, however, surprised by the substitutions - masuaku gave us the pace and threat we needed on one flank given that that we had nothing elsewhere - noble and lanzini should have gone off for Snodgrass and fornals earlier

But otherwise we waste two great chances, a couple of good half chances and had a goal stupidly ruled out. In an away game for a struggling side with loads of players out that’s not bad going

Re: ⚽ Sheff Utd v West Ham - Official Match Thread
sir alf, actually agree with you . I didn't want Moyes and still don't but im not too sure what else he could have done yesterday. You only had to look at the bench to see how short of players we were.

The only thing i didn't agree with was Fornals starting on the bench . Overall i thought we created enough chances to get a point . It wasn't a great performance but compared to some of the shit we've watched this season it was nowhere near as bad as some claimed.

The main problem at this club is the board and that will stay the same no matter who the manager is.

nychammer 8:59 Sat Jan 11
Re: ⚽ Sheff Utd v West Ham - Official Match Thread
So he brings off knackered Noble and brings on who? We don't have a decent replacement. Sanchez? I will judge Moyes on his signings (if indeed he gets any or a say who we can bring in in the window) and the balance of this season.

Last night was all about our lack of strength in depth. No second striker, no adequate cover at RB, tired slow midfield, thin cover for Fabianski. The list goes on.

I am not saying he will not over the long term be the kind of manager you describe but do you think he was the main reason we lost? Its just opinions and judgements not a contest for me. I can be convinced and like to think I am open minded enough to change my mind but I think it a tad early to be linking the defeat yesterday to Moyes, We were indeed not that good but IMO better than under Pellegriini ( not hard) and the squad gave very few options.

I actually was unaware that Adjeti was injured so if that was the case I may be being thick ( it comes naturally to me :-) ) but why the criticism of his bench?

I will no doubt be slagging him off ( Moyes ) before long but have seen nothing yet to suggest its time to start that :-) Just trying to be fair minded.

Arnautovic Carroll Hernandez Perez OUT
Haller Ajeti IN

Presuming Ajeti was one of the ill players he referred to and Antonio is injured

We dont have a second striker

alf, he didn't have a second striker in the squad. stop making excuses for the negative, anti football cunt

Re: ⚽ Sheff Utd v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Don’t disagree Alfs but a bit more honesty after the game would go down better.

It wasn’t a good performance at all and he could have said we need to hold the ball better and create more chances.

I think the fans would appreciate that more...
