As I’ve said all along though, I’d be made up to finish 7th and enter the Europa Conference League.
_______

Why would you be 'made up' if we slip down the league? Europa League will be a great achievement (if we bother to take it seriously) but how often do we get to have a chance of a CL spot?

daveyg - but it's football, unlikely yes. But quite possible.

We were three down this season in the same minute as the sending off and got a point.

However you think it would have ended we were denied the opportunity

brundal.
Totally untrue and clutching at straws.
The evidence is there, we had ONE shot on target prior to Balubena being sent off. Highly unlikely that we would have had a shot on target let alone a goal in the last 15 minutes of play.

Not that its the first very questionable red card we’ve had this season, Soucek’s never made sense either. You’d almost think the authorities didn’t want us to be challenging for European places.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Chelsea (ExESL) - Official Match Thread
The problem is with trying to get the red card rescinded is the fact that it probably cost us a point , the ref and VAR made a huge mistake that loss of a point could cost the club millions .

Good. Should take all of about 30 seconds for them to look at it and overturn it.

My main concern is it's the second utterly nonsensical VAR influenced sending off we've had this season, and i know there have been others for other teams. How is the standard of officiating so poor?

3 more wins should be enough to get us 7th place.

For supposedly our most important game of the season so far it was... well... fucking boring... I fell a kip last 20 mins... looked like Moysie would have been punching the air for a point...

Great win for Burnley yesterday, suspect they will now feel they are safe with West Brom blowing 2 pts and Brighton continuing to perform abysmally
Hopefully that relaxation will see them put the cue back in the rack after Kiwi Wood's Anzac Day hat-trick

I’ve got a horrible feeling we’ll finish 8th and miss out on Europe all together.

As I’ve said all along though, I’d be made up to finish 7th and enter the Europa Conference League.

The red card sums up the standard of the refs in the game at the moment.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Chelsea (ExESL) - Official Match Thread FT 0-1
I’ll be blunt - I really don’t understand the fuss around Mipo at the moment.

Naturally, I get that he’s a talented young forward. However, he hasn’t played very much top-level football at all. He came on as substitute against Manchester United, and was so poor that night that he had to be withdrawn. It looked a lot like stage fright. But that’s a problem when we’re facing a succession of big games.

More than that, however, he hasn’t kicked a ball for any other professional team – even on loan in League One or Two. This guy hasn’t proven that he can score goals at any level.

And yet some want him to be thrust into a Premier League battle for European places. It doesn’t make any sense.

I don’t mean to be dismiss the young lad, and I really hope he goes on to be a very good forward indeed. But I do think that some people are getting very carried away. One step at a time for him - lets see if he can score goals for D&R first!

master
I agree with what you say to alarge degree. Especially with regards to Coventry. He should be given minutes in every game but hasn't. Moyes is relunctant to put him on for Noble or anyone else. Moyes plays players out of position more than any manager I can remember.Mipo too could have had a few mins but Moyes is scared of losing but we've conceded 7 goals from looking in complete control with his selections and subs.

Oxsaw, while the MOTD team weren't "incandescent" with rage, they were flabbergasted:

I suspect that had that red card been handed out to a "Big 6" club player, the media would still be so effervescent with rage there would be no room for any match reports today.
