I wonder about Longelo as well. Doesn't even get on the bench. Find it hard to believe that Moyes doesn't even want him on the bench when options have been so limited for LB.

Soucek does a lot and was back to himself when Noble sat back.

Masuaku actually suits our system at home when we have possession, but only when he DOESNT play left back. He doesn’t have a defenders sense or ability, other teams know it and target him when he plays there. In short we need younger competition for Cresswell. But Masuaku is useful further forward

Cant understand why Longelo isn’t given a chance, he was our best player against Zagreb at home.

My concern is how anonymous Soucek was in this game and recently. Palace continually played the ball through the centre on the left hand side. I think he needs dropping for a rest, Kral should be given a chance.

I enjoyed Vlasic’s cameo, will be interesting to see how he performs when Benrahma is away and Fornals covid/dropped.

I’m worried about Liverpool putting in an offer for Bowen, he is playing so well.

Agree entirely about Masuaku.

Wanstead and Mex plus any others who ironically defend MASUAKU.
The first goal Palace scored Masuaku just stands next to Vlasic and does nothing about closing the man down. Diop is also culpable for ducking too. The 2nd , Masuaku does something similar and lets the ball go over his head as first man,no attempt. Lesson one in defending.

Yep, I thought that yesterday, watching us play poorly but still scoring and getting a result...long may it continue.

Oh, cheers Pagey. I obviously misread all the responses I got at the time, my fault.

He's got COVID now Chim but he was dropped before that.

I thought Pablo got dropped because he's recovering from Covid?

Or did I just dream that?

Re: ⚽ Crystal Palace v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 2-3
We all know why Fornals got dropped because we all watch the same games. Despite you pointing it out a while ago apparently. Thanks for that.

Re: ⚽ Crystal Palace v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 2-3
Er, yeah, exactly.

As for Masuaku, he plays when he's the only option, and Moyes would have him out the door if he could find a buyer. Fornals got dropped because of repeated poor/anonymous performances.

Re: ⚽ Crystal Palace v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 2-3
Moyes dropped Fornals because he was out of form. That’s pretty much how football works.

The same manager who plays Masuaku, yeah

Furry muff son.

I s'pose the most import opinion is the manager's, who dropped him.

Only saw the highlights but looked like we were very fortunate. We were efficient in front of goal for once but they could have had 5. Will be happy when we can get our regular back 5 back.

I fear that Spurs will take 4th because as predicted Conte has got them sorted.

Re: ⚽ Crystal Palace v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 2-3
Yeah, and so is mine. And so is yours. We qualified for Europe with Fornals being a regular starter and for me, when on form, he’s one of the first names on the team sheet.

The consistency argument could be made against Benrahma, Lanzini, Antonio and even Bowen at times. Hence me saying it’s great to have a squad of decent players so they all need to earn their place.

Re: ⚽ Crystal Palace v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 2-3
It's a footballing observation, Pagey. To be fair, I called it out weeks ago with Fornals, I like the bloke and he gives his all, but he is not consistent enough to be a regular starter if we want to push on.

Pagey 3:04 Sun Jan 2
Re: ⚽ Crystal Palace v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 2-3
Ridiculous to suggest that we’re only scoring goals because Fornals is out of the team. We’ve scored plenty with him in the team and also scored none at times when he isn’t playing.

How about we just appreciate that we have a decent squad of players and they’re all capable of stepping up when others are off form or missing? We haven’t had that luxury for a long time.

Good win and two cracking goals tho Lanzini struck the penalty well also keeper had no chance.

I take little notice of possession and shots on target stats, put the ball in the onion bag thats all that matters.

The only worry was Arfur again when he came on for Johnson both their goals came from balls into the box from our left.

Re: ⚽ Crystal Palace v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 2-3
first half certainly felt like Rice and Lanzini had it most in the middle. As i said they only threatened with the diag out to Ayew. Rice run the show ....again

3-0 up at HT sort of confirms it
