Whilst them missing 3 players with injury was an opportunity I’m also thinking tge extra rest and time to work on team understanding, fitness of some of the new lads etc. may outweigh that. ( expect Newcastle to barter us now I’ve said that)
I do hope Downes is retained. Gives us better cover and markedly better with a football than Soucek based on last night. Ok not perhaps as intense or fast as the Premiership but think you reward a good performance by “keeping the shirt”. Soucek was looking better last couple of games so will ensure he knows he has competition and has to get back to his very best? A win win?
Anyway, 10 more days getting our team to gel might actually be a good thing assuming they work on the problems in training? For example, mentioning to Emerson to be aware of the overlapping wide man. He got under the ball 3 times thru poor positioning and lack of awareness.
Could also work on trying to play out from the back more although suspect we will need Aguerd.for that :-(

If Newcastle didn’t have Wilson & possibly ASM & Bruno out I’d agree with you FCJ. Seemed it might have been a good time to play em.
Saying that think we played them last season when they had loads out and still only drew so fuck knows.

Probably just as well it's cancelled to get some more fitness and understanding between the players.
Newcastle of this season will make us look silly if we are not on our game. I don't really know what our game is at the moment though. We have been massively underwhelming, disorganised and error prone.
Moyes needs to build around Paqueta and learn how to use Scamacca.

They'll play all next weekend's games on Sunday, won't they?
Monday's games are rightly cancelled as they are part of the same 'round' of matches, but I think other mid-week games are going ahead.

Feet is always jumping in feet first if anyone says anything negative about us.. But here he is slagging off a player who's been good for the most part this season because of one bad half when we were collectively shit, Rice included..
But that's OK, maybe he should go support Spurs as he loves saying that to others who are critical :-)
