Problem is Haz, we haven't played well all season, bar the odd half hour against Spurs, and maybe 5 minutes against Chelsea.
We've been absolutely fucking dire to watch, and our only league win was a very lucky one against Villa.

Lazio were battered by Midtjylland who are below both Viborg and Silkeborg in the table, Fiorentina were battered by Basaksehir and Monaco were beaten by Ferencvaros.
Not the best West Ham performance I've ever seen but certainly not the worst. Yes, a strange set up and even stranger substitutions but I think a little perspective is in order. We did win apparently, altho you wouldn't know it reading this thread.

I expect Moyes will feel vindicated by his approach to games as last night their 1st goal came from scmacca trying an ambitious pass to a runner and then Bowens mistake neither would have been encouraged to try those things.

All defenders make mistakes. It's a given. From Gary Breen to Virgil Van Dijk.
It's not going to be hard to pull a ricket from each of ours individually and it just becomes tit for tat over who is the worstest ever to pull on the shirt. On the whole I think most of them do a lot more right than wrong.
Kehrer is generally very good but IMO (and I don't like him but he knows a bit about defending, also monkey head on BT) got caught out for their first goal last night. Big deal. He'll get over it and be generally very good going forward. But there is a reason he plays for us and not PSG any more, or for Real Madrid.
Doesn't make him shit, and the odd error from Zouma, Dawson, Ogbonna or Cresswell doesn't make them shit either. There's so much hyperbole and overreaction on here.

Our major problem now is keeping possession. Especially trying to work the ball forward and open teams up but also playing out from the back. We often still launch it to Antonio even when he’s not playing and essentially give it back to the opposition
It’s tactics and ability of some players in terms of control, passing , pace and movement. A player like Paqueta will struggle without movement, pace and crisp, accurate passing around him. IMO.

Kehrer has been excellent in the ball playing CB role, to single him out just highlights a lack of football knowledge.
All our CBs have made mistakes recently, it's a position like the Keepers and strikers where mistakes are highlighted because they directly lead to goals against or missed chances that changed the result.
How many pens and sending offs against Dawson last season? Even last night his backing off almost cost us a goal, does that make him a bad player?

That is an excellent point. By conceding possession and inviting pressure, our defenders are under a lot more pressure than they would be if we retained the ball and looked to play in the opposition's half.

What does a counter attacking team do when the opposition doesn't attack them very well? Well, it seems that we pass the ball across the back again and again and again until the opposition decide to attack us so we can 'hit them on the break'. Fucking garbage tactics by Moyes. We've got very good outlets upfront now, for fucks sake start playing the ball forward quicker and create. If we don't get anything from Everton, sack Moyes, get Tuchel into the club and let him loose with this squad.

He's seen sprinting back after being stranded up field, he just makes it inside the box as the ball's put across with SON directly behind him ready to tap it in. He couldn't clear it wide or over the bar so it had no blame attached to him at all

Maybe our defenders look collectively crap is because we spend a lot of games defending, Moyes seems to think we should play on the break and play for free kicks, corners where we basically just lump it into the opposition box and hope Dawson or Soucek win the header. The attacking side of our play needs a big improvement, by bringing in the 2/3 quality players was supposed to improve this side of our game, but the common factor with last season is still here playing his dour defensive tactics.

Tottenham - slid in with Son directly behind him, meanwhile slow bollocks was fifteen yards behind the play
Chelsea - first goal, he didn't head it at all you plum - it cleared his head by at least a foot - possibly two
Home to FCSB - lucky deflection, the FCSB attackers still and three or four defenders to negotiate
Home to Viborg - held down/back by the black number nine, coufal outjumped on the back post
Last night - first goal - coufal again letting the man he the cross in. second goal, kherer's still in the opposition half after the ball was cleared - nowhere near play so not sure what the fuck you're on about
as I said, try netball or something else you cunt
