Howe has completely rejuvenated the Fat Geordies in less time than Moyes and ironically given their financial clout with less money.

Funny that, Moyes rejuvenated us too, when he first arrived. Twice. With a lot less money than Howe has spent up until this season. Let's see where Eddie 'I teach my players to dive and pretend to be injured at every available opportunity' Howe is in a few years time.

Moyes only has a Plan A.

Set a team up to play counter attacking.

Then when a team like Man Utd set up to sit in, there is no Plan B in his coaching range.

Nolan ..Warbutton etc are cut from the same cloth.

So expect it to carry on the same.

I never felt like we were going to get an equalizer even with all those chances we had.

I pretty much gave up on the game after they scored.

Another game with zero points because of a negative approach until last 15-20.

Another game with Scamacca as isolated as a rowing boat in the Pacific.

Another game with Downes playing out of position.

Another game where Soucek was not needed yet played 90 mins.

Another game where Moyes failed to make the right changes / subs.

Another game where Moyes states we were unlucky but we only attacked for 15 of the 90.

Next game - Expect more of the same

it's difficult to contribute when you're getting pretty much zero service, and the player closest to you is playing out of position. look at the reasons players are underperforming before writing them off. downes is another who is being mismanaged because he refuses to drop a favourite, even more frustrating when he players like fornals who'd love that 10 role rather being stuck babysitting cresswell. the manager continues doing this hard minimum, safety first shit and it's beyond tedious

Get Nolan OUT… the stench of Allardyce is reeking through the pores of the club… we are just so fucking boring.

Re: ⚽ Man Utd v West Ham - Official Match Thread
I'm gonna put it out there - Scamacca either scores or contributes next to nothing. Is he a 15 a season premier striker? Thats the question for me..

Soucek is past it now & Downes out of his depth against that standard of opposition (ie top 6 sides).

If only Benrahma had a non panic finish about him.

Fact is, apart from Rice, we're not good enough. Multitude of reasons, most of them expressed by the gang on here. We won't get relegated but we won't be that far away lads..

I thought Cresswell would have at least lunged at Ericsson to stop the cross for the goal. He was that close.

There's a reason we have only scored 3 times in the first half in league games, we all know the reason for this.

Also and Iv' banged on about this before, our basic passing is fucking atrotious for this level of football. And yes Manuel, thick end of £200 mil spent only to go backwards and become more sterile in our play.

I posted this on another thread but its relevant to this one as well.

Agree Soucek is a big part of the problem. He’s just not the player we signed 2 years ago but then again he’s been flogged like a pit pony so he needs a spell out of the side.

I only saw the highlights but the defending for the goal was terrible. The ball bounces twice at Eriksons feet whilst he picks his head up and the delivers with Rice turning his back. There were 3 West Ham around him and nobdy challenged the ball. Had Rice not turned his back it would have hit his left shoulder. Also Kehrer had 2 at the back and didn't commit to either.
What i saw was Antonio created some problems - i think he needs to start again.

Some given Moyes another free ride for that performance.

Firstly, it was a game of very poor quality (both sides) compared to some of the other games I watched the weekend.

Aside from Martinez and Dalot and DDG chipping in with a few late saves, they were poor, Brunno doing an impression of Soucek, i.e. being the player getting picked week in week out despite playing shit.

Central Midfield is the main problem we can all see. Playing Downes ahead of Rice and Soucek is idiotic. A Soucek that isn’t getting on the end of corners etc, chipping in 8/9 goals needs to be dropped. He can’t play a link up forward pass to save his life. I’d even chance Coverntry in along with Rice, if he can play that forward pass. And if Coverntry isn’t good enough, then it’s a position we have failed to address in the transfer window with the €300m spend.

MOTM for me was Rice. Maybe the captain needs to have a word in the manager’s ear about having to carry that midfield on his own each week.

Imagine if for some reason Utd or any of the top 6 away came down with a virus , could not field it’s first team but had to fulfill the fixture against West Ham and had to play an entire reserve team .
Would Moyes change his approach? The fuck he would .

“Pretty much as expected. the second half proved we are a good side and are maybe two players away from being a very good side”

Yes pretty much as expected we played well at the end when desperately chasing the game. If we played like that DURING the game we’d have taken something. But we didn’t. Yet Again.

Look at the job Kompany is doing at Burnley, he's completely changed the style of play from that turgid hoof ball under Dyche to a more possession, attacking based game. He's done this in three months. He hasn't spent a lot of money and they will probably walk the league like Fulham did last season. I know it's the championship but still highly competitive, the game has moved on Dave!

I really wish some people would stop taking the last 20 minutes from yesterday as some sort of indication that things are going well, we're just missing a bit of luck.

We have 14 points from 13 games, scoring 11 goals. We are in fucking horrendous form in the league, and have been for a long time. Our away record is disgusting, imagine if we didn't get that fluke win away at Villa?

And this from a team who's manager has had over £300mil to spend since he returned. It's nowhere near good enough.
