Time for a new FIFA Uefa need to act now.
|
So the non corrupt within UEFA should man/woman up and let FIFA know the time has come for them to fuck off. If the major European sides decided enough was and enough and together boycotted the WC then FIFA would collapse. They'd be left with South America, Africa and Asia to hold a tournament that nobody would really give a toss about. North America would want to break away and that would leave Argentina & Brazil virtually isolated as major players of world football. Without UEFA, FIFA is a dead duck. England/Germany and the others should make a stand and fuck off the corrupt money grabbing wankers and form a New Order of World Football.

Let’s not forget England and West Ham coach Paul Nevin worked for the Qatari state for about 5yrs.

Absolutely! Just like with the Danish news team last week. Also the heavy handed way they seem to be deciding what fans can and can't take in to stadia- if they can even get into the stadium or the country anyway!

Probably wasn't the wisest dress selection. This one is a little more questionable.

To be fair given the history and connotations, dressing up as a knight over there probably isn't all that clever!

I don't think UEFA is quite as bent as FIFA. Most countries affiliated to UEFA at least frown on corruption in theory and will send people to prison for the most blatant breaches of the law.
Almost all the other oil caliphates, tin-pot dictatorships, banana republics and African hell-holes that comprise FIFA couldn't give a fuck.

I agree with your sentiments. I'd like to see FIFA get its come-uppence.
But, let's be honest, UEFA aren't angels and what do you think will happen if UEFA ran world football. The same fucking pigs would be sloshing their snouts around in the same dirty trough.
Money corrupts all.

Its all about money. And hypocrisy of course. All well and good wringing your hands over the Qataris and FOOTBALL. Mentioned the other day that they own £30bn of London property plus major stakes in UK companies. Plus Prince (now King) Charles accepted 3m Euros for his charities from a senior Qatari between 2011 & 2015. Werent so awful when money was coming to the UK
Lots of virtue signalling going on. The ones I respect are the Iranian players. They and their families will be in major danger back home because they refused to sing the anthem. And some knobhead reporter asks a player for his opinion on the political situation back home. Yeah, put your head in a noose, SON.

Qatar spend $220b on this World Cup in the last 10yrs.
Let that sink in.
That's 220b given to foreign construction firms and businesses they needed to build the whole thing.
NOBODY gives a fuck about anything when there is that much dough sloshing about.
In fact, when Blair was PM he even stepped in over some Saudi stuff based on the fact that they make too much money. Trump did the same other the journalist the carved up in the Turkish embassy,
Too much money to give a fuck is all that's happening. Just imagine if Beckham turned down £150m quid because some guy he's never met had a go at him? Would anyone actually do that? I dont even think Elton John would turn down 150m to play piano in Qatar...

As said earlier, UEFA are just as bent as FIFA, it’s the amount of money sloshing around that does it, bloody hell, even on this forum there is the accusation that the premiership is bent in favour of the big six. Also EUFA were shitting themselves when the super league was getting mentioned, then basically the English clubs fans showed their dislike of it and everything gets back to normal.

There is a small flaw in your function mate.
Sky Sports don't pay a single penny to UEFA or FIFA. You need two functions really:
BT=ITV+BBC = loadsamoney for B + P
S + PL = loadsamoney for a bunch of cunts.
Funnily enough, I think Sky are a little (very) ambivalent about a European 'Super League'. Whatever happens, it won't be good for their cash cow, the PL. The PL gets far bigger audiences. I know for a fact that BT Sports are happy with things as they are, though they wish they'd bid a bit better for some of the PL slots.
A super-league benefits nobody except the owners of the clubs that are in it.

If standing up to UEFA/FIFA resulted in US getting bombed out of the Europa Conference League, how many do you think will rally behind such a cause?

The amount of corruption in football is directly proportional to the amount of money that is pumped into the game and can be summed up with the equation:
S+UEFA (FIFA)=loadsamoney for b+p
Where S=Sky and b = Blatter and p = Platini

ultimately its just a game on the telly. An entertainment product. All the countries FA's make their most money from this tournament. And they dont have to do much to organise it, as FIFA does it for them.
If Russia's invasion of Ukraine had half of Europe thinking about doing business with Russia. And Saudi Arabia is still bombing Yemen yet has Callum Wilson knocking in goals for their club.., well.. I dont think any serious football nation is going to boycott FIFA over gay rights and dead workers.
The only thing is to learn from this debacle and not be so blatantly corrupt next time, just be a little less blatant about your corruption and everyone happy.

So the limited consensus of opinion on here is.. Good idea but UEFA is as corrupt as FIFA.
I really do believe that now is the best time. Public opinion is right behind the players and their wishes to be heard. It has now to be down to us to voice our dissatisfaction with UEFA and at all future European games let the spinless cunts know what we think.

I don't think South America is really the problem. Their teams are there on merit and if push came to shove they would side with UEFA (they know where the money is).
The rest can play on UEFA/SA terms or fuck off.
And, as we've just seen, 24 teams is plenty.
