"It's a ridiculous figure."
Still doesn't tackle the financial problems, it's where they want you to point the finger though.....

"as always those taking benefits are seen to be the problem when it's a minuscule amount and wouldn't even start to pay the deficit or a the bigger wage rise required."
It's 2 million people taking, not giving, its a huge amount.
But its 8.5 million people taking and not giving in the country.
It's a ridiculous figure.

Jonathan Drakeford, the son of Welsh finance minister and Labour leadership contender Mark Drakeford, was convicted of rape and actual bodily harm in 2018 and jailed for 9 years.
Sturgeon or her husband will end up behind bars.

Side I think scum is the wrong word when describing local authorities. Incompetent and wasteful yes but they do mean to help citizens as best they can . The problem is lack of ££, like most of the problems in this shell of a society.

Scum local authorities do well from this 2 million taking on their care responsibilities... a lot cheaper to bung someone an extra benefit than actually spend money sending someone round or having them in a home, especially when a lot of them won't have a property to pay for it....look up how much they charge those who are judged they can afford to pay for basic care & a place in a home.....as always those taking benefits are seen to be the problem when it's a minuscule amount and wouldn't even start to pay the deficit or a the bigger wage rise required.
Look into agencies etc when it comes to 'care' or managerial structures....

You do know many of those take a massive cut in wage as the benefit is of a benefit level? Not of a wage level....also if it's people with not a lot that need caring for with nothing... like a property to pass on etc it saves on care costs that would go to councils etc....therefore us?

Yeah, the ones who don't have a job, but get benefits to "care" for long term sick. Nearly 2 million of them.

New Jersey
With carers, its around 4.5 million who simply don't work and won't work on sick and carer benefits.
There are 10 million people who aren't working (but are of working age) in this country, that's why this country is fucked. Unemployment very low, but that is measured on people actually seeking work.

Council - That's the elephant in the room that no party has the bollocks to tackle. I'm all for the nurses getting a decent pay rise but they have to tackle chronic long term absenteeism in the public sector, six months full pay is sustainable. I've witnessed it in the public sector and it needs addressing. There are thousands of nurses off with 'long covid'???
