Re HotY... I dunno what the procedure is at the toilet bowl but it always used to be pre match (last game of the season)

From memory they have always presented the HOTY to the player before the match unless that has changed in recent years?

You can read whatever you want into Rice's behaviour
Notice they presented HOTY pre match so not the focus on him at the end. And as said he walked round in the middle of the group with his baby for the lap. Usually one that does a long walk round up to the fans post match. Could be explained by having the baby with him or didnt want the fuss while the season is still going.

So pleased that we turned over the fat-chopped mega-head Pound Shop Joe Kinnear and their wannabe fans.
Hope that’s them down - and for another decade or so.
Bit torn next week with Spurs v Leeds. Is it possible for both sides to lose that match?

Yes, really enjoyed the game.
I was very pleased Lanzini scored, I will miss him.
I like the Czech boys, proper footballers, we should certainly keep them, although more competition in the squad for their places is needed.
I'm not bothered about saying good bye to Rice. He should stay, if he goes it's turning us down and I won't be overly impressed by that. I think there's a small chance he stays if we win the noddy European Cup and clubs don't come in with massive offers.

Just watched MOTD. Sam claims there is no one better than him to manage a football club before the game starts - and then throws his players under the bus once they'd lost. Not his fault, of course. He's Allardici - in his head.
A truly horrible cunt and I'm delighted that we've probably blown his 5 million bonus for keeping Leeds up.

I confess I enjoyed Allardyce's joke with the 4th official.
Although it seems out of character for him to be so relaxed in the face of possible relagation

Must say I was so pleased to see Fornals play today. Clearly a confidence player, one week he can't pass it five yards yet today he was playing great long passes to feet and that dink pass to Bowen was sublime.

Well, that was a thoroughly enjoyable day!
Some proper good football by west ham and makes you wonder what if had they played most of the season like that.
Paqueta is on another level. Just to think there were plenty questioning him and his ability early on. If you couldn't see if he is a baller of top drawer from the start and just needed time, then for me you don't know your football.
My daughter managed to pursued me, my boy, my mate and his daughter to stay long after the lap of honour in vein hope of getting Rice's signature. Said untold times there was no chance of him coming over only for him to head directly to us just as we were about to walk away. My boy had my old 1986 shirt on and the player I'd probably let sign it was Rice. Nice end to the day, especially knowing it was his last home game for us.

Yeah not a lot to grumble about today except for why haven’t we seen more of this sort of thing this season?!

Just got home to sunny Somerset from the match. Shoddy start by us and they deserved to take the lead. After that it and especially after we equalised, it was all us. You’d think Leeds were mid table and on their holidays, showed very little quality and no fight. Even their usually loud fans were very quiet after we took the lead and seem resigned to relegation.
Paqueta was MOTM, Fornals, Rice and Bowen next best. As for any signs it was Rice’ last match, they all seemed to celebrate his goal like it had extra meaning. Paqueta also tried setting Rice up for a second when it was easier for him to score himself. Nothing stood out during the lap of honour, Rice was holding his son and no different than you’d expect him to be if he was staying next season.
Crowd were superb today, great atmosphere and I even gave Moyes a clap although I’ve been one of his biggest critics this season.

I never heard anything announced but Soucek had a babe-in- arms as well, and Bowen, Ings and I think, Fornals had no mascots.
And some had a few that looked a fair bit like them.
So I made the assumption.

canada All the players had their kids with them or borrowed one. Most teams do this for final home game.

ALF agree with most of that,Coufal can't cross, why was he taking free kicks ? The two Czech boys have not progressed at all. Soucek gone backwards and I was a fan. Paqueta was taking the piss with his flicks and back heels, probably the most in a game ever. Leeds were atrocious but they had a clue less manager. he couldn't do anything right and really should be fined for chucking that gum at our turf. I hope Leicester win tomorrow, all the bottom 3 draw next week.Everton and Leeds down. We can nick a couple of Everton players. None from Leeds thank you

Got home about an hour ago - a long day.
Pleased to have seen us win on our final home game of the season. I thought the team played well considering previous performances. Particularly liked the parade by the players and their families after the game too.
Far too many missed chances and it could easily of been 7-1 but one reason. Of recent times when near the opposition goal our players always want to change feet before shooting. Bowen does it, Benrahma does it. Ings does it, Fornals does it as do a few others. Can they not kick with the other foot? It's not uncommon in football.
By the time they have changed feet, the defenders are in a better position and shots gets blocked. So why the hell don't they try?

Ha! Actually I have no idea- was at the game so didn’t see any of the tunnel stuff. One report I read only mentioned rice and his kid in reference to him possibly leaving so a bit misleading if they missed out the fact everyone did it.
To be fair it’s pretty much clutching at straws to find reasons from today why he might be not leaving- doesn’t stop me trying though. Really sad to see him go if that was indeed the last dance.
