Sponsors man of the match is....
What a waste of time this is. Nolan against Barnsley last time out (greeted with cheers of derision) and Collison today, who was anonymous and scared of the ball (greeted with laughter). Last season it seemed Parker was the 'easy out' unless someone was clearly different class, but this season there seems no reasoning behind the choice. Get rid of it, as it doesn't do anyone any favours at all. Noble and Tomkins were both terrific today, yet weren't recognises. Poor.

Perhaps Collinson agreed to give some money to charity but for me MOM was Noble and agree Tomkins had a good game.
Hope the rumours about his departure are unfounded.
Faubert had a poor game as well.
At least 3 points especially as the results went our well.
If only we had got something from the Derby game.

Nolan was booed, stop pussy footing around and the fact that an equally dubious MOTM award was made but not met with boos proves that despite what some were trying to claim it was indeed all about slagging Nolan off. You wont see any of those muppets come on here and praise him for his winning goal either.

Re: Sponsors man of the match is....
The player who had the greatest effect on the match today was the Coventry keeper. But for him we wold have been done and dusted with thirty minutes to go.

The opinion of those around me and me was that our most influential player, by a country mile, was Tomkins. Collison gave an encouraging performance and so to did Baldock. Diop was resolute in midfield and Nouble looks like he might keep Carew on the bench. For the rest, they were adequate.

Maidstone - let me guess... Everyone on this forum is wrong about Noble, and you're the only one that's right? Hilarious.

The only thing Noble did wrong all game was pass when he should have shot. His energy levels were unbelievable, he was absoutely everywhere - twice he was the last man and made saving tackles

MaidstonePaul2, you are the bedwetting retard Fordstar and I claim my £5

Re: Sponsors man of the match is....
Collison had an excellent game although Noble was my man of the match as he dictated everything.

We battered Coventry and should have scored 4 or 5.

Similarly if you wish to PRAISE a player do the same. That'll be TOMKINS

Re: Sponsors man of the match is....
Maidstone - if you honestly think Noble was shit, you know nothing at all about football. That's all I can say. I haven't seen the stats, but regardless I would be willing to bet Noble has the highest number of completed passes on the pitch, and quite probably the highest % of successful passes. I can't remember an occasion where he have the ball away.

Still, if it suits your agenda Maidstone, what relevance are facts?

Re: Sponsors man of the match is....
Collison was not woeful; he wouldn't have been my MOM but he did play quite well although I would have put 3 or 4 in front of him. Personally I would have gone for Noble. I know that football is a game of opinions but anyone who says that Noble was shit today does not know the game.

Cheers of derision? Jeers, perhaps, they booed him.

Re: Sponsors man of the match is....
Noble was pants.

Always trying to play the hollywood ball and fucking it up, not shooting with goal at mercy then missing the target.

His energy levels are also abysmal.

Tomkins was without doubt the best player on the pitch but keep those specs on Andy.

Bit harsh! Thought Collison had a decent game, as did Noble. Faubert's pace is still a great outlet.

Re: Sponsors man of the match is....
personally don't think we should take it too seriously whoever gets mom.

It will be voted by 5 or 6 corporates who's company can afford to sponsor the match, and most of them probably don't even support west ham or even like football.

I am sure that Tomkins or Noble will go home tonight happy in the knowledge that the team got 3 points and they have earned there 20k+ a week wages without worrying about missing out on a bottle of cheap champers.

Re: Sponsors man of the match is....
Noble was pathetic - are you serious? That is without doubt one of the most ridiculous comments I've EVER read on this site. Tomkins and Noble were absolute head and shoulders above everyone else. Collison I agree was woeful

MaidstonePaul2 6:59 Mon Jan 2
Re: Sponsors man of the match is....
Tompkins was fantastic apart from a blip near the end but he recovered. Noble was pathetic, as was Faubert.

Fed up of hearing purple tinted glasses on Noble and Collinson they're not up to it.
