Ashley Young vs Sergio Busquets

Not sure who is the bigger diver?

I used to think the best play actor diver was Busquets, but Young has caught him up now.

How long before a proper old school hadget man (Ryan Shawcross or John Terry) properly injure one of them!

JT comes up against Busquets this week, so that could be interesting with SB and the rest of Barca players theatrics!

Sven: I agree. Busquets is a vile, cheating little pig. His play acting and exaggeration when touched is completely disgusting. He is the dark side of Barca that alot of people miss when over-awed with their great play. There is a very devious, nasty side to Barca and Busquets is the main man.

Young wasn't caught he kicked the defender. Pires was always good at that.

On the original point Young & Busquets are different cheats. Young has his skill of pretending to be fouled in the area.
Busquets is more of an all pitch injury feigner who attempts to get players sent off.
Both despicable

If a player was laying injured in the penalty area and as play continued a striker deliberately ran in and tripped over the injured player - would it be a penalty?


I see no difference in that to What Ashely Young did.

Not defending Young because he is a cheating little bastard.

However, I think one of the main problems is that referee's do not give penalties if the player stays on his feet. We've seen that recently with CFC against Brum. Blatant holding and stonewall penalty but he tried to carry on and get a shot in and gets nothing. So players, when they are fouled, feel they are forced into the dive or sprawl to make sure they definately get the penalty. If referee's started giving penalties when players are fouled but do not go down then I am sure diving will be reduced.

Also, I think video replay evidence should be called in for this. For example, the powers at be should say to referee's if you see a tackle in the box and the attacker goes down but you do not believe it to be a foul then obviously do not give a penalty. But also do not book the player for simulation. We will have an official look at it on replay and if the player dived then send him off after the event. Not only would this soon stop all diving it would also take the pressure off the referee to make a snap decision if the attacker dived or not. He then also doesn't get all the defending team screaming at him to punish the diver. He can just say they are looking at it.

Look at Tevez at the weekend. He was booked for being blatantly fouled. It would cut all of that out too. In the Tevez example it is just tough that man City would not have got the penalty retrospectively but that is not the issue. If the ref misses it then tough. But at least the referee is helped in making an informed decision on whether a player dived or not.

I know it won't happen but it would be nice to see Pearce (or whoever takes over the England job) exclude Young from the squad and saying its because he's a cheat and we won't lower ourselves to johnny foreigners level

He's been doing it for years, all through the time he was with Aston Villa & now with Manchester United, the only reason it's being picked up now is because of the penalties awarded & the absurd FA decision not to rescind Derry's straight red, thereby publicly branding him a cheat. He's been diving to win free-kicks for as long as I can remember, if he were 'foreign' the media would have had a field day with this cunt years ago.

I don't normally give a fuck about other teams and what their players get up to but I've seen this cunt dive twice now in the space of two weeks to win penalties. This is why, for me, Young and players like him have made me lose any passing interest I may have had in the national squad.

Ferguson is a cunt for condoning it and the BBC are also for not slagging them off.

Just looked up some stats for Pens, Manchester have been given 56 pens and had 26 against them in the last 10 years. They have had 8 pen against them at old trafford since 1998. Swings and roundabouts/evens out, i think not Rednose.
