West Ham linked with Ciro Immobile
Iv'e had three of my trusty Italian sources tell me that West Ham have expressed an interest in some 22 year-old striker called Ciro Immobile, I've not heard of him before so just wikipediafied him and apparently he finished Serie B top goal-scorer with 28 goals for Pescara where he's been on loan from Juventus. If we get him hopefully he could step up to Prem standard, he's still really young so might be able to adapt well. He's name sounds funny a bit off putting though, 'Immobile'

Re: West Ham linked with Ciro Immobile
It's hard to judge a player on the ground of an extraordinary season.
Moreover all the teams that have been managed by Zeman have a different approach than the average italian teams, they tend to attack more than trying to control the game and have the philosphy of scoring one more goal than the opponent.
All of his teams had a great goalscorer upfront, he was the one who discovered Signori and Baiano when he was at Foggia, he later brought Pavel Nedved in Italy when at Lazio, and later Bojinov and Vucinic at Lecce.
In Pescara is also playing an ex Hammer, Emmanuel Cascione who has had a great season under Zeman.

Ciro Immobile?

Keiran Dyer's wheelchair-bound italian cousin?

The only circumstances that he will be any use for us is if he, by a freakish abomination of nature, is an amorphous blob of flesh exactly 8 yards long by 8 foot high and we can put him in goal.

But he probably isn't.

Reminds me of when West Ham played a friendly against St. Patrick's Athletic here in Dublin during Redknapp's reign and fielded the on-trial DANNY INVINCIBILE. He didn't live up to his name and ended up playing in Scotland as afar as I remember.

I wouldn't get too excited about our chances here. The Juve fans seem to think he's an important part of their future.
Maybe a loan?

Purely on the YouTube footage, he looks like a great finisher.

My only concern would be that it's been a long time since an Italian has done well in the prem.....

Before making a decision on his next career move, Ciro Immobile says he will talk to Pescara boss Zdenek Zeman.

After scoring 28 goals in Serie B this season, the striker is set for a summer transfer as a result of his co-ownership between Juventus and Genoa.

Marassi president Enrico Preziosi has already announced that the 22-year-old will play for the Grifone next term, however Immobile is keeping his options open.

Speaking to Radio Mana Mana the player announced, “I’ll ask Zeman for some advice. I’ve heard the words of praise for me from President Preziosi and they are pleasing for me.

“My agent has already spoken to both Genoa and Pescara, so we’ll just see what happens.”

There is a chance that Immobile may be allowed to stay on loan at Pescara for another season following their promotion to Serie A.
