Brandon Block - Buddha Lounge Romford, your fav 90s rave tune?
Those of you that remember the "good old days" of Ibiza, Clockwork Orange, Pasha, Space, Hollywoods, raves, pills and all that may be interested to know Brandon Block is making an appearance at Buddha Lounge, Romford this Saturday. Not sure what you favourite classic tune is but he's promised an Ibiza Classic set.
For me- Strings of Life, Kariya and Lil Louis (French kiss) always raised the roof

You??

Good DJ when he started out before getting a bit too commercial for my liking.
Would go over to Haven Stables for the Sunday afternoon sessions back in 88.
Decent enough chap and heard his book is very good but not read it myself.

No mate, Fridays at Palms is no more, I think the hotels gone downhill massive since the Indians bought it, probably turn it into a Bollywood function hall in time.

Used to be a good little hotel back in the day with a decent restaurant.

Brandon is on at 1.00 apparently, looking like a sell out, got some decent DJs apart from him as well.

There's a CD giveaway as well, For g'list - 07780006185

I saw Brandon Block do a set at the Palms Hotel Hornychurch on a Saturday night once.. twas packed but the promotors were in despair that the hotel's own weekly friday nighter the day before had attracted more customers than him.. are their Fridays still going>? I went from early 90s til I went abroad a couple of years ago it was a hoot and always busy when we went

Didn't Alex P own the Velvet rooms for a while before it shut down?

That was a good club actually which is strange for the West End/Soho. Many a good time spent gurning and dribbling in there.

ARE YOU LISTENING, OR WHAT!?!?!

Re: Brandon Block - Buddha Lounge Romford, your fav 90s rave tune?

Buddha Lounge (or Opium Lounge as i remember it) is probably one of the more decent places to go in Essex for music if you ask me! And it doesn't have the poncy clientele that some of the celebrity chasing West Essex bars have!

Having said that, i DJ's in there a few months back and it was the first time id been in a while, couldn't believe how young it'd got in there and how they just seem to let in any old riff raff! The music in general wasn't to my taste, but the people who were there seemed to enjoy themselves.

Reckon you might get an older crowd with Blocko playing

I'm too old skool for this thread, got bored of the Rave scene by 1992. Prefered the late 80s stuff, much more edgy & underground!
