Who is the most ethnically diverse on here?
|
|
I am not but in wake of similar threads, and myself enjoying a bit genealogy, I thought this might be interesting.
So going back three generations to your great grandparents, how nations are represented.
Me - 3 possibly 4
2/8ths Danish 1/8th French Canadian (but we try not to think about that) 5/8ths English (Though one ancestor is a Jones,so the are probably Welsh but as far back as we have traced that line, they are in the East End.)
Over to you

Doomy - why are you in Poland? Is it some sort of cultural exchange? Are you hanging around, smoking heavily, standing outside Polish betting offices?

Next form you fill in , pretty much quote your family tree and ethniticity in the Box required . This will take about 40 lines(maybe the A4 sheet attached) and a lot of confusing percentages .Going back 6000 years I am 0000000.1% african!

Well...
I'm English, I live in Poland, have a Polish wife so our sone is half-and-half. I work for the Dutch subsidiary of an American company, and drive a German car. I have commercial responsibility in my job for the UK and Scandinavia and previously the whole of Eastern Europe.
I once had a threesome with a Canadian and a Russian (both female) and I have a Siamese cat.

born in England and half-English (back for a couple of hundred years anyway)
the other half however is a bit more complicated. A couple of generations born in Egypt & Sudan. Bloodlines include Sicilian (itself quite a melting pot of all things Mediterranean), mainland Italian, Greek Cypriot, Greek (other) islands and the (then) Greek City of Constantinopolis.
But Far East Hammerette is more mixed than me: her Mum's a mixture of Ilokano, Tingguian, Irish and Spanish (the Spanish might actually be Galician or even Basque, or a mixture of all three - Mrs FEH isn't sure)

Irish - From Irish stock. American - From Italian and Irish backgrounds Hungarian - No idea all records lost during WW2. Iranian - Who knows where they come from?
I was born in England and my partner is an Aussie with an Italian father and a Fijian mother.

It's rather like English cooking - very reliant on local in-season produce and traditional recipes.
And the contents English sections of supermarkets over here boils (sic) down to marmite, custard powder, Lee & Perrin's sauce, baked beans and digestive biscuits.
