Luc Castaignos
Right, going to hold my hands up on this one and say, i know nothing about this bloke but seeing as on the rumour thread it is thought this might have legs based on the newspaper articles below.... I wondered if anyone knew much about him? and what peoples views are on spending around 7m Euros on him?

Inter will make a decision on Luc Castaignos (19) by the weekend.
On the table there are 7 million to 8 million proposed by West Ham, while Feyenoord does not seem willing to move, apart from the request of the loan.
Although last year Inter only paid 1.5 million euros, the release of the Dutch talent would be a gamble in terms of both technical and economic terms. But the proposal of the Hammers is attractive, and could set the project to recover.
In short, the money collected from West Ham, could eventually become crucial to close the mega-deal of Juraj Kucka from Genoa. The decisive meeting with Preziosi will take place as soon as the club rossoblu will find an agreement with Siena. It is close.

Inter: West Ham are serious about Castaignos

Luc Castaignos is about to leave Inter. The Dutch striker was courted by several teams, including Feyenoord who sold him twelve months ago. According to a report in the Corriere dello Sport, West Ham would be ready to put on the plate around 7-8 million euros to acquire the entire card of the Inter attacker . Inter will sell because we think that money would be reinvested to bring back an old bullet Massimo Moratti, or Mattia Destro.

Chelsea are going in low for Moses because he only has a year left on his contract.

The dutch league is pretty lame also to be honest. Again, how many did Kuyt, Boogers, Kezman, Alves etc score there.

Agree, Seria B is equally crud but I dont really think we can take too much from the statistics.

KIA, you seem awfully defensive re BFS transfer poiicy. Incidentally, I wasn't moaning at all about the prospect of the signing, I just seriously doubt that it will happen.

Lets just hope whoever we get is fucking good!

So if we offer £2m for Berbatov and United turn it down, does that mean he's worth only £2m :-)

Looks as though Feyenoord are out of the picture:-

Inter News

The bitterness of Castaignos: "I will not go on loan in Italy, I will leave Inter"

Maybe Inter fans will remember him for spitting in the Inter-Bologna match last season, or just as a meteor, one of those players who failed to prove his worth in neroazzurro. "The company wanted to send me on loan in Italy, but I asked to be transferred because I came here to play only with Inter, not with another team."
A message of love from Castaignos, but with words of resignation that means goodbye is imminent.
"I was asked to go to Feyenoord, but I could not help the team next season. "I am sad about how things went, I regret not having engraved in the hearts of fans neroazzurri. I am still thanking them for their support."

Excellent. Elia will be a quality signing.

I'll correct myself on that one before someone else does.

Chelsea offered Wigan £4m for Victor Moses. He is a better player than Zaha.

Zaha is not worth £4m. That's a huge price for a massive gamble.

It doesn't matter who we try to sign, one look at Chadwell Heath and they will be offski !

Re: Luc Castaignos
I wouldn't offer any more than Chelsea reportedly have (in the region of £4m, apparently). Which was rejected (apparently).

Hasn't shown to be worth any more than that over the course of last season.

Ughhhh, I fucking hate Spurs! Why can't they just let us be linked with a player without crashing the party?!

Anyway, they haven't got a manager at the moment have they? No player in their right mind would join a club without a manager. And surely no chairman in his right mind would buy a player without there being a manager?

From the Italian press

Burak Yilmaz, Tottenham and West Ham, make offers. But beware the outsider Sunderland.

Burak Yilmaz listen to all proposals. His manager, Ali Egesel, will be in London until Thursday evening, when he will fly to Madrid to listen to the latest proposal for Atlético. But it is the Uk capital with a possible new target of the attacker. Lazio came close several times to an agreement but it did not materialize which has allowed the return of some suitors.

Tottenham and West Ham the strongest, with Sunderland pointing to a different strategy. The first two in fact, according to rumors we collect, have focused on increased supply Biancocelesti in contractual terms. Approximately 3.3 million euros a year plus bonuses that of Tottenham, West Ham that of 2.5, which would allow the player to keep the image rights to their homeland.

The OUTSIDER - The Sunderland has instead accelerated negotiations with Trabzonspor. Burak Yilmaz had said: "Europe, but also a destination that happy face on my club." The company's famous port city of northern England, took everything literally. The offer made in Turkey would be the highest bid received at Sener, who asked Yilmaz to assess the target.

What's wrong with Serie B? Fabio Daprela played/plays in Serie B and he's the next Roberto Carlos!

Re: Luc Castaignos
Eredivisie, 2011-12: 3.258 goals a game
Serie B: 2.863 g/g

So, roughly 14% more goals per game in the Eredivisie.

It's not like it was twice as many.

Re: Luc Castaignos
I would think in Serie B how easy it is to score is based on who much money each side has bet on the result..........

Yeah I wasn't saying that you rated Zaha.

I just felt the need to have a rant about him. It's getting on my nerves how many people seem to be creaming themselves over him. Ricardo Vaz Te is 10 times the player Zaha is.

Re: Luc Castaignos
Castaignos is more a savio now that a balotelli.
Seven million is too much imo and scoring goals in eredivisie is much much much easier than in serie B.
But I leave kia and trundle with their opinions maybe next time they will say that also about the S.P.L.
Eredivisie is a crap league where apart from the top 3 clubs the rest is of low level in quality.
Castaignos went from scoring 13 goals in 29 matches to a fringe player used mainly with the youth team.
Fact not opinion.
Seven millions for him is too much imo whatever you think about serie B varese feijenoord or Savio.

Never seen this guy play but he has a pretty impressive goal scoring record, and is obviously highly rated with possibly a very bright future.

Could prove a quality investment, unlike paying out £5m+ for Grant fucking Holt.
