Interesting stuff, of course Cameron will only offer a token notional referendum, its wording will be slippery and deceptive and merely give us a edict we cannot change the course from, he is happily selling us all down the river, just like Churchill and all the others have.

Edith Cavell and her letter to the Nursing mirror will help identify how all efforts in the wars were for and directed by the bankers.

Her death was propagandised in Britain it was used to encourage more enlistment into the army, when in fact it was our command that had her killed for identifying Rothschild's hand in the war.

We still get all our stories told by the same telly, radio and newspapers.

That's why the internet is exceedingly dangerous, history is very well documented if you're interested in the truth and make the effort.

If you wanted to know about the Iran/Contra affair(for a random but relevant example), you wouldn't go to the mainstream Western media archives as they entirely obfuscated the truth, and still do.

"Who controls the past, controls the future; who controls the present, controls the past."

It pre-dates Churchill and WW2. Its a must read for anyone with a serious interest in the subject

Orwell

Sounds like it might be an interesting read. As with all aspects of politics you can safely assume that there was a lot of deception involved at a time when there was a lot of support for bringing Europe closer together - even Churchill was a supporter.

I thought about voting Green in good old Nehwam a while back.

Got to the polling station and the candidate lived in Twickenham.

Unless she was running or cycling from there every day I felt that running under the Green banner was a bit out of order and I did not vote for her.

The Greens in the mayoral election.

Mind you, UKIP forgot to put their name on the ballot papers.

I'm not sure about the assembly.

I didn't get as far down your conversation to any particular year.

Who did better in the London elections this year? UKIP or Greens? I genuinely don't know.

'I voted Green at one election when Blair was in charge'

Since Blair wasn't in charge in 2010 I will just have to stand by my statement.

On reflection, perhaps 'literal-minded, humourless, sandal-wearing, quorn-eating, elderflower presse-drinking, middle-class, Brighton gays', would have been more accurate.

Far more than that Monk. Read "The Great Deception" by Christopher Booker and Robert North.

Re: And David Cameron wins the next election for the Tories
I voted Green at one election when Blair was in charge as I couldn't face voting for any of the main parties. Don't wear sandals, eat quorn drink elderflower and I'm not gay and don't live in Brighton.

Anyway, whilst we Brits whinge about Europe, the next election will come down to who people think will turn the economy around.

The idea that people will vote for the Tories on the strength of a referendum on Europe is, IMHO, complete bollocks. IT'S THE ECONOMY STOOPID.

'If you consider "not all their voters are sandal-wearing, quorn-eating, elderflower presse-drinking, middle-class, Brighton gays" a perferctly reasonable statement it says more about your mentality. '

If think, on balance, my assessment of their supporters is more accurate.

You omitted the fact that UKIP fielded candidates in 262

That rather proves my point that they only appeal to the types that I mentioned.

You omitted the fact that UKIP fielded candidates in 262 more constituencies than the Green Party. That might have something to do with their larger vote.

I like Europe. I live in Europe (France) in fact. I enjoy being able to travel the continent freely without border controls and the need to change currencies.

Britain has always been different from the rest of mainland Europe. We were always outsiders and continue to be so.

Britain should remain a trading member of Europe without ever joining fully into a political union in spite of my preferences.

If Britain cannot control something we will always be against it. Britain can never control Europe.....

'Nice bit of prejudice there from a UKIP voter showing his true colours. '

It's not really prejudiced, is it?

UKIP polled 3 times more votes than the Greens.

About a tenth of the Greens' national votes came in Brighton.

Brighton has a large bohemian population. Brighton has a large gay population.

I put all these facts together and make a perfectly reasonable statement.
