The incessant use of 'Moore than' by WHUFC recently...

Started with Pardew and was a bit cringey but most liked it. But just recently the club has gone into overdrive using Bobby's name for every headline on the website in ST renewal promos, adverts, club shop fucking everywhere.
Latest is 'Moore than a community club'
It must be the 6th of 7th Moore headline on there in the last few weeks

I think it's more a question of how they do it.
"Moore than" is quite good as a written one-liner, once or twice. But it loses its impact when it's used too much, it becomes a kind of cliche.
While Bobby Moore was one of West Ham's best ever players and earned fame with England, there's a sense of mercenary in the way the club has been using his name in the last five years or so. Personally, I don't much like it.

I liked it when Pardew done it in 05.. it was new.. it was innovative... it almost worked.... now it's just old hat and embarrassing....

it's a bit muggy we keep advertising our club off the back of a player (absolute legend don't get me wrong) who retired in the 70's.
There's not much Bobby Moore like about the club and hasn't been for a while.

The club got slated for not using Bobby as an ambassador when he was alive so the current management are trying to make amends and get slated.
And why the fuck should we forget our past. It made us what we are today. People should never forget Bobby and the club should do everything to make sure no one does. People like Bobby are what make us stand out over all the other boring, run of the mill clubs.

It made me cringe when I saw Pardew wearing the T-Shirt back in 2005. It makes me cringe now.
God only knows what the man himself would make of it.
