Just announced, joins Duxbury there, so no great surprise for some on here who predicted this last week.
Jury is still oyt for me, will be interesting to see how he does?

claretandblue well that's a load of old bollocks isn't it, Zola ony ever won three games on the spin and one of those was an FA Cup game, youre the one that seems to forget.
Watford were on the verge of the play offs at one stage, shame they're getting rid of Sean Dyche but if I was one of their supporters I'd be more worried about that nugget Duxbury being involved

as previously stated, his only vice with us was that he was an idealist- wanting to play flowing passing game with inherited players who simply wern't talented enough to get results that way.. I 'm sure he'll be more pragmatic at Watford, hit the front man early and -because he's a nice guy for whom his footballers want to do their best - will grind out results in the lower league there

Nice bloke, good footballing philosophy but too much of an idealist for me.
The football he tried to have our lot play and will try at Watford will be comparable to a group of Brickies trying to do the Riverdance in their steel toecap boots. :)

Kept us up with owners wanting rid, and no backing. Watford will be ok. This time he will have backing. Good coach likes playing football, fans will like his diamond formation which gave us our best consecutive run of wins in last 5 years. People forget.
Good luck to him. Several teams with Italian managers now, playing football fans want to see, and winning. Who do we get! Fat Sam kick and rush. Bolton in disguise. Get use to it.

He didn't spend much at West Ham. I think he'll be happy to work with whatever he gets - never seemed like a coach at West Ham who was pining for 'better' players at all.

I liked the way he tried to play football, too early in his career for us though. Did a very good job on the Italian under 21's before joining us don't forget.

Yeah what the fuck does someone like Zola know about football compared to a crooked politically connected shyster that has bullshitted his way across his career into the top plum jobs in football without any qualifications, that broke a record for two consecutive relegations in a row.
I will agree on one thing though, had Zola not had the safety net of perhaps the worst manager in football as one of his competitors he may not have saved us from relegation, as he did.

Actually Watford turned the corner last season under Dyche, they could be a dark horse for the playoffs if Zola can build on that.
