I think a lot of the gangster image was just used to sell records. And I wouldn't put it paste Suge Knight to have bumped him off to make even more off him!
I think if you compare him to someone like Eminem, the things he wrote are far more impressive IMO.
For those not into this sort of music listening to Hit Em Up on youtube is worth a listen sung about Notorious, Puffy and co!
