I wanted them to go into the Highland League just to see how they fared against Fort William, who seem to be dead last with about 4 points every year around April time.

A source I know very well and trust still isn't convinced that Rangers will be in D3.

not too sure what the difference was here with Middlesbrough? they were wound up and formed a new company in 1986 didnt they? as i recall they started in division 3 ( now div 1) following the rangers example , they should have been relegated to the northern premier league.

So assume that will mean more money in thier coffers so each year there will be a team apart from Ranger now who get more money.
I suspect the Scottish league will get more competitive.

Scottish Premier League Founded in 1998, The Scottish Premier League, currently sponsored by Clydesdale Bank, is the top level league competition for professional football clubs in Scotland. The league consists of twelve teams but only two – Celtic and Rangers – have won the title, with each team having 7 championships to date.
Celtic won the title for the 2011/12 season after a 6-0 away win against Kilmarnock, reclaiming the top spot for the first time in four years.

Well if it isn't fucked how do you propose they replace an £80m TV deal, cos no-one is gonna touch them until the Gers are back in the top flight and as soon as Sky's legal advisors work their way out of the current deal it's gone.

What is funny is all these people running round saying Scottish football is fcuked just becuase they didn't let a brand new club come in and 'masquerade' as being Rangers and dupe their fans. Rangers has GONE. It is being liquidated. The new co has no football history and only assets of a dead club.
It's sad that this has happened to a great football club but nobody would save it because they thought they could get away by starting up fresh without taking on the debt and everyone would let them carry on as usual.
Justice was done today unfortunately for scottish football fans,

I think the Administrators of the liquidated club sold Ibrox and Murray Park, the training ground(very plush too,by all accounts) to the new club's consortium led by Green for 5.5 million quid. This happened on the day the club went into liquidation and appears to have been lawful. The trouble now is the new club are in a financial hole after selling only 250 season tickets for next season so far and now being placed in Division 3. They are in deep shit but no doubt the fanatic Rangers supporters will rally round and keep the club afloat one way or another.

Nobody knows who owns Ibrox and their training ground do they? The club says they do but I'm sorry those assets are worth way more than £5.5m thats been paid. The suspicion is they are owned by one of former owner Craig Whytes companies.
When Leeds went tits up, they had to sell everything - ground included to cover the debt. I can't understand why this hasn't happened here. Very shady and i'm delighted they have been dumped down in the 3rd division - shame they were even allowed to play there.

As I understand it, a man bought them with promises of investment, then invested nothing and may even have taken money out. It wasn't a Leeds situation.
