If you look further down the thread, someone explained that apparently the editor of the Voice used the Jewish Chronicle getting a pass as an example of how niche ethnic newspapers were getting passes.
Making cheap political points about people dieing shows what a lovely person you truly are.

if it's true the Jewish Chronicle and other ethnic niche papers got passes and they didn't then it's fair enough for them to complain.
They should though not have given ANY of these papers passes and then everyone's equally unhappy.

See you in a few weeks russ.
Was listening to talksport today and the editor was on the phone thanking them for their support. Apparently, according to one of the lunchtime show presenters, the precedent was set with the admission of the jewish chronicle. Said editor mentioned they have a 3k core readership. Other figures show their highest circulation was 55k, but that figure has almost certainly declined due to internet publications. They no longer publish their circulation figures.
A local monthly business directory around my way has higher circulation figures than that. I wonder if they'll be covering the games?

No self race segregated publications should be allowed anywhere the Olympic's end of. It's fundamentally wrong.

You are so far off the mark, I have a lot of ethnic friends, colleagues and clients, and race is not an issue.
Just don't think in an integrated society we need to have race specific publications. If this makes me a racsist, we live in a sad, sad world!

Bloody right!!
The Voice is advertised openly as 'Britain's Favourite Black Newspaper'. They do report standard news but specifically highlight on black issues, black celeb's, black sport stars and news relating to black people.
Not saying this is wrong but the Olympic's is not just a sporting event. It serves as a platform to build relationships between different nationalities, races, ethnicities and cultures from all over the world. Breaking down barriers caused by majority rule, bigotry and hate.
The Voice is a segragated publication by its own creation. By selling itself as 'Black' paper in my opinion it loses all rights to the Olympic's as it goes against the fundamental policy of breaking down segragation.
If The Voice chooses to report specifically black issues then stick to that. But don't come crawling and whining when you want to report on something that is fundamentally about bringing all races together.
I am gald they have said no.
