Our squad as it stands
GK: Jaaskelainen, Henderson

DEFENCE: Demel, O'Brien, Tomkins, Reid, Taylor, McCartney

MIDFIELD: Nolan, Noble, Collison, O'Neil, Diame

STRIKERS: Cole, Vaz Te, Maynard, Baldock, Maiga

Spence, Potts, Morrison, Hall

I know there is still a little while to go before the season starts, but our squad is looking worryingly thin.

I would say at least another 4/5 players will be needed.

"as it stands"

Possibly

As there's fucking age's to go to buy some more players, possibly not....

Calm. The fuck down.

Re: Our squad as it stands
cartis, the season is a month away.

We've signed new players and we'll sign more players before the season starts and before the transfer-window closes at the end of August.

I just don't understand all this unnecessary dungaree-wetting.

No club has their squad fully-prepared for the new season because, well, there's about five weeks to go yet...

We'll finish above both Southampton and Reading next season

Christ I wish I had your confidence Dicksie.

I'm not panicking but Pea is dead right as it stands our squad is painfully thin and as it stands wouldn't stand a cat in hell's chance of staying up.

Defence not good enough and there is no way we will score enough goals with the players we currently have.

5 More players in at least and hopefully it will be a different story.

Chris Eagles is a good shout. He went from Burnley along with Tyrone Mears for a combined fee of 3 million in July 2011 on a three year contract,so unless he has a get out relegation clause,Bolton will probably want around 3-5 million,as he had a pretty good season. Probably too expensive for the little man with the big wallet.

Can threads either panicking, or generating panic from the hard of thinking, be banned until about a week before the window shuts?

Christ Almighty, more dungaree-wetting.

We'll finish above both Southampton and Reading next season.

Our squad is better than both of theirs right now and it will be even better come the start of the season; once we've improved it furthermore.

I couldn't give a shit if both of them finished above us last season. We underachieved last year - everyone knows that - and we shot ourselves in the foot by drawing about six home games on the trot which cost us the title. But that doesn't mean a lot to us anyway. The only thing that mattered was us winning promotion. Which we achieved.

Feel free to roll that one up; stick it in a pipe and smoke it...

At least that amount Pea.

There must be some frantic work going on behind the scenes that's all I can say.

I have to admit I though we would have had at least a couple more in by now, the next couple of weeks will be interesting.

Last time we came up we had finished 6th in the Championship finishing 12 points behind Ipswich in 3rd who we beat in the play-offs and miles behind Sunderland and Wigan in 1st and 2nd. Anyway, we ended up finishing above both Sunderland and Wigan the next season, and we reached a cup final.

Re: Our squad as it stands
We lack alot of width. Whittingham? Snodgrass? Eagles? Championship players who should be playing at a higher level. Why we not going for these lads, especially Whittingham. RB, CB, LM, RM x 2 and i will be happy.

Re: Our squad as it stands
KIA. Our squad is weaker than Readings and Southamptons. They have both bought in a number of players to strengthen squads that finished above ours last season. Lets face facts here we didnt manage a single win against either last season and now we are trying to take on Premier League sides better equipped than those two.

"I heard it was over agent fees, his agent apperantly wanted too much "

Simple solution for the player then if he wants to sign for us, sack his agent........

I can't believe any player would let an agents demands wreck a move they wanted.

Leroy- Im sure I remember seeing him say in the papers a few months back that he is a devout christian and that hes changed his life from the wild partying footballer to serving God. Doubt hes gonna have a bad attitude to be honest, I heard it was over agent fees, his agent apperantly wanted too much and thats why DG and DS told his agent to jog on.

Sorry I can't agree, the reason the club is in the shit now is because we've had a history of paying average players well over the odds.

£45k for Richardson? Thankfully the board fucked him off and rightly so.

Did we miss out on Clyne? According to who?

Re: Our squad as it stands
BFS has said that he is looking to sign 4 players, if Maiga is one of them then only 3 more to come in. That leaves this squad really short in every department.
In defence you need a right and left back and at least 1 maybe two centre backs to come in. Thats a problem all ready over our quota.
Width and pace for midfiled and another striker. So with what BFS has at his disposal where will his 3 signings go?
One has to be a CB. Surely a wide player. Where his last signing will go is pot luck.
