As of now we are fielding a championship defence. We know that has to change or we will be facing a long hard season

fitness, from the evidence of last season, has definitely improved as a direct result of BFS and his team. therefore, you would assume fitness regimes/levels will be maintained this season. i have no doubt the squad will be mentally & physically fit.
however, the clock is ticking and with just 3 weeks left, some on here think we will just switch from crap displays to premiership standard displays. it's not as easy as that is it ? players need to bed in etc..
as per previous posts, we need to target realistic signings not spout sht on radio stations & twitter - we are leaving it very late in the day...

People panic about not scoring against them, Man City with Aguero and Tevez didn't manage it either a week or so a go.

Dynamo Dresden are an average German 2nd Division side, albeit only a week away from Kick off
To win so easily must have been a surprise to them and of concern to BFS
I don't think it will make a jot of difference to us in the coming season but highlights our need for some new blood

I was at the game
Same shit really, no real defence, we hoofed it up to CFC all night, but there CH had him sussed, and won 85% of the hoofers, finn looked a tad shaky, but wasnt at fault for any
Southend trialest was trying to hard to a contract got confussed for 2nd goal, ended up back heeling to there CF who stroked it passed the finn
3rd, we stick a guy on back post, geza had a free header {unfuckingmarked} if we have a geza on back post, how and why does a limp header squeeze in passed him and the post and it was getable, ffs it was below waist high, pure bolox
Southend geza made some good sweeper rund from defence, but final ball from him often went to them, or he lost it, he was trying though
Reid was crap all night and Demel was getting mugged on his side 2nd half, they were up fot it and attacked in numbers, which we couldnt handle
We hoofed it to CFC, same old
Taylor had a few decent long shots, one skimmed off top of bar
We didnt really pressure them in numbers, if we did i had the feeling they wernt all that
Miaga was on for a while...didnt get much ball, one decent header over the bar, on so short so cant judge
CFC was angry with referee over a few decisions, and clearly told him so, when his number came up and he was going off
BFS didnt look happy at 3 down at all
Having said all that
We gifted them all 3

Moshni replaced Obrien at half time, Maiga replaced Cole late on and I think Maynard replaced Nolan
It was a poorish performance, the Germanys played at a far high tempo but we gifted them 3 goals.
OBrien and McCartney challenged the same fella for a freekick and it sailed over them leaving the man free who Taylor hadn't picked up in the 6 yard box to score but the keep could have done better for me.
Minutes into the 2nd half the ball was played at Moshni who got in a mess and nudged the ball away from Jussi into the path of the striker for a simple 2nd
The 3rd was far post free header that somehow sneaked between the post and Noble who was standing on the line.
We had a few half chances, Taylor hit the top of the bar from 25 yards, Maiga just headed over from a superb Oneil cross.
I don't think it told us anything new, we're short on numbers, in particular in defence and we're slowly getting fitter.

It was woeful and these players in the whole are nowhere near good enough,I know pre season is about getting fitness levels up but it's no good being fit if you cannot control a ball!
Great atmosphere in the ground and players should really want to play in these games as its it often you see a large crowd creating a cauldron of noise!

I know this was just a preseason friendly but we did not have intelligence in our play and that is the reason we will struggle, at the moment we have too many championship players in a premiership team
