Has the opening ceremony changed anyone's mind about moving there?
I still think moving there would be great.

I'd love a mini west ham united ceremony for our opening match there!

Look on the bright side, hopefully we can keep those LEDs that they had for every seat

This is the spirit!! We need to think big and bold to make this move work. Fuck the football experience, let's all don our jester hats, conga round Westfields and swap Bubbles for something more universal like Swing Low!! It's going to be one great Party and the Olympic opening ceremony definitely proved it's going to work out.

I think a 50k capacity would be spot on...

60k - I'm not so sure...it sounds misguided

If we can get the Queen and James bond on our side I cant see any reason why we cant win the fucking title

I think if they can get a large grass hill and an oak tree in there - they can manage retractable seating too

I also think we should keep the tall smoking chimneys to make the Northern Monkeys like Bolton and Blackburn feel at home

It could be like a Henman Hill for happy clappers.

Noble's knoll?

You sure they won't just replant them between the pitch and the stands, there is enough room?

Re: Has the opening ceremony changed anyone's mind about moving there?
It's embarrassing how people see a good opening ceremony, get swept along with all the excitement and imagine us playing in front of a raptuous 60,000 supporters every other week.

It'll be a shit football stadium and a fucking grass hill, a thousand drummers and a pompous Kenneth Brannagh hamming it up doesn't change that.

the Telstra dome is in Melbourne.

yes Populous are doing the re-design, so it shouldnt be an absolute disaster. Remember, too, that there are a good 10k temporary seats at least already in the Olympic Park - the Riverbank Arena and the disabled tennis courts to the north. Put two and two together and you get them inside the OS.

Re: Has the opening ceremony changed anyone's mind about moving there?
They don't care about 60k day trippers, they care about attracting one big investor

Re: Has the opening ceremony changed anyone's mind about moving there?
Mark - To be honest, I don't think they give a shit about the current supporters we have. In their mind, I think they believe they will magic up 60k day trippers every game who just want go for the 'experience'.

I think they're so out of touch with the game it's a joke to be honest.

Re: Has the opening ceremony changed anyone's mind about moving there?
If the clubs plans were that shit, we wouldn't win the bid.

Haven't our rebuild plans been made with the company that designed the OS?

Re: Has the opening ceremony changed anyone's mind about moving there?
Our move to the OS can't be shit, if it is even the most loyal of fans will stop going if the matchday experience is crap.

Re: Has the opening ceremony changed anyone's mind about moving there?
Gav - Cheap? You're not wrong. I reckon it will be like the Green temp seats behind the goal at Gillingham and like what used to be in the Shed end at Chelsea.

*Shudders*
