Olympic ticket fiasco.......
........Unforgivable and has tarnished an otherwise fantastic effort and goes against the Olympic spirit!
Been trying to get reasonably priced tickets since they first went on sale with no luck. Still searching endlessly and although the site says they are available, they are NOT!
Too many overpriced expensive seats, and corporate/ "Olympic Family" seats that are not used, very upsetting and plain wrong seeing entire sections empty when millions would snap them up if they had the chance!

Once in a lifetime chance & I am millions of others currently not going because of corporate greed & VIP bollocks, very bitter!

You've just been unlucky. It's not a con.

I applied for LOADS originally. Some I got, most I missed out on. Most of what I got was for the 'non core' sports, as I hedged my bets and realised those were much more likely to come up trumps.

I didn't get any of the big ones I went for, aside from a morning at the pool.

Keep trying. You might get lucky with the website later.

Quite a few went on sale last night about 10:30, managed to get Tuesday morning athletics. Even tickets for Sunday 100m went on sale for 260 each I tried but funnily enough they went quick.

Fiasco? My arse.

Applied for a grands worth of tickets originally and got half of what I applied for, a reasonable return. Spread my applications across many events and days, beng more flexible has yielded good results. Many people I speak to who applied and got no tickets went for things like 100m final and opening ceremony, well guess why the weren't successful

Just got on line one too and saw tickets for the Athletics tomorrow morning on sale alongside a few other events

I understand it must be frustrating but I'm not sure why everyone has found it so difficult.

I was allocated some Hockey tickets out of a few hundred £'s worth I tried to get last year in the 'draw' but when I started work at the OS in June, decided to use the Hockey trip as a full day and went on the website and searched for sports in the afternoon and evening. I got two reasonably priced (i.e. less than it costs to see WHU) for Beach Volleyball and Basketball and had the chance for most other sports. Even last week I nearly bought two other tickets (I had them in the basket but decided I'd give it a miss as I could see enough with the job)

Loads of people have asked me 'how I got the tickets' or told me 'I must have been lucky in the draw' but these were bought just over a month ago and there were still plenty then.

I've been applying for athletic, rowing and gymnastic tickets ever since they went on sale and every night they "say" there are more available. it's an absolute con and Coe must be the most arrogant man in the country.
my family are loving the Olympics and all the great GB team but the ticketing is a disgrace, the only people I know who have got any, got them through friends or relatives who work for the sponsors, I bet it's easier to buy them abroad than here!

I agree- I'm really jealous of everyone who was lucky enough to get a cycling ticket. I put in originally but my number just didn't come up.

I will keep trying though. You never know!

I did manage to get a couple of £65 tickets for diving earlier tonight but I let them go when I saw that it clashed with the athletics.

Wouldn't want to be stuck in the Aquatic Centre with all the real action going on outside!

Re: Olympic ticket fiasco.......
Nicey, to be fair, the football tickets are fairly easy to get hold of.

Great tickets to get, especially for your boy, but it's the athletics, swimming and cycling tickets that are like gold dust.

Re: Olympic ticket fiasco.......
I easily got tickets for the millennium stadium and will be seeing team gb in the QF on Saturday - £32 including booking and postage for me and the boy - pretty good value that and nice and easy.

Nice one mate.

Out of interest, did you have to wait a few minutes for it to go through or did it click through straight away?

Not sure whether to just reset everything as soon as it says a 15 minutes wait to see if tickets are available.
