Was funny watching Balding judge the mood wrong after Adlingtons race.
Went back to her shortly afterwards and she did some Olympic level backpeddaling.
Genius.

"Love Johnson's stance of drug cheats"
Yeah, what with him taking them by the fuckihng bucket load and being one of the most hated athletes of all time.

Too right as well. Love Johnson's stance of drug cheats. Given his own experiences with Pettigrew where he returned his gold medal, I suppose it's only natural that he'd treat them with such disdain.

My favourite moment was when Kemboi won the 3000m steeplechase and the commentator mentioned about him being 'a character' as he is due to go on trial for trying to stab up a woman.
Class.

I've just been thinking about that headline of this thread

Surely it would serve all of us better to edit it to something more focussed an on-message.
The best ever day in British Olympic history! Proud

I like Michael Johnson's comment. 'Well, that's one bronze medal that no-one's going to care about'.

What happened to Powell, why did he pull up?

I wish Gay had got third. Seems like a good bloke every time I've heard him speak to the media over the years, and he was genuinely gutted to have finished one outside of the medals.
Just like Powell, he's unlucky enough to be around in an era of absolute beasts in the event. Powell is one of the fastest of all time, but two other fuckers from his own country are consistantly better. Poor bloke. Oh to have been around five years earlier...

Fucking fast!!
Everyone seemed to be following Bolt no matter what country or creed. Was electric.
Just a shame Gatlin got a bronze, the cheating cunt.
And I was suprised that Chambers got a decent reception in the semi's, also a cheating cunt. Got no applause from me.

Ashy- Sounds absolutely incredible!
I wish I was there on Saturday night.
Iwas at the Aquatic centre last week and that was really loud when one of ours was in action, and I saw a bit on the big screens in the park. Great stuff, but probably pales in comparison with the stadium- I just imagine my 'COME ON MO!' shouts amplified 80,000 times!

Scorch, It was incredibly loud, but when the Brits are finishing it can't be described. Mo's race was tense as fuck so that last 100m was a massive outpour of celebration. Imagine the BBC guys on that clip x 80,000.
As the runners are going round the track there is constant noise, but everyone cheers more as they run past them so you get a sonic wave following the runners, which is quality.
Watching yesterday on the TV when the big cheers go up it instantly gives me goosebumps as I recall the feeling of sampling it first hand.
Must add that the atmosphere around the big screens in the park is also great when the Brits are on.
We really did get lucky with those tickets.

"Balding is about professional as you can get."
I'm assuming that was a joke.
She is rude, insulting, doesn't know the subjects she is talking about and wouldn't get near a screen if it wasn't for the fact she licks more fanny than Russell Brand.
