Michael Mcintyre

Does anyone like this guy?
Was watching a dvd of his on the plane back. First time I've seen him and he's pretty hilarious.
Not as good as Lee Evans imo.
Can anyone recommend one of his best dvds please?
Thx

I actually find him to be quite funny - pretty harmless stuff, not requiring too much thought but still amusing.

Nicey, you missed Gina Yashere off the excluded list.

He is funny at times but because he is a mega star and very middle of the road it's easy to try to gain cool/intellectual points by saying you don't like him.

Most comedians are funny at times, that is why they are comedians.
Obviously when I say most I exclude Omad Djalili, Shami Sheppi? , Lee Nelson and Jethro

At 10.15 in this clip, Jim Jefferies delivers a lovely Michael McIntyre anecdote. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sIMZdvNDY1M

I remember that from a few years back. I'm sure you'll be delighted to know that he mentioned it in one of his books that I read recently!

I saw McIntyre very early on in his career and to be fair he was very funny that particular night and his routine was better from a writing point of view.
He has sold out for sure, but I think that a lot of criticism towards him from other comics (apart from the money) is the way he has gone to the extreme extent from his very early days...when he was a lot more credible

I saw him at the Cliffs Pavilion a year or two ago. Hilarious and full of profanity. Something you don't hear when you watch him on telly.

I like TURAN. I'd have a beer with him, or if it was against his religion, a Pimm's with him.

Each to their own of course, but I find MM a very unfunny cunt of the highest order.

I'm quoted on Stuart lee's website calling him a cunt.
I stand by my previous comment

Well you'd need to look up Stewart Lee 'cos that's how he spells it.
I like both of them although Lee is the only one of the two I'd pay to see (saw one of his last run at the LST and going again in January). But I do disagree with most of his points about popular comedy/telly (McIntyre and Channel/More 4 especially).

Been to see him there a few times, eusebiovic, class act.
No jokes about awkwardness in lifts, troubles getting on the tube, funny things his 5 year old said. Still, if that sort of thing floats your boat...

As Stuart Lee said when I went to watch him live at the Leicester Square Theatre
"I'm not Michael McIntyre, I'm not here to spoon feed you warm diaorrhea"
That was worth the ticket price alone...

There's something that needs explaining to some people.
Not liking safe, bland, middle of the road bollocks, either in comedy, film or music, does not make you pretentious, aloof, and doesn't mean you think you're better than those that do.
It just means it takes more than safe, bland, middle of the road bollocks to get your juices going.
