Has left for Colchester.

West Ham United can confirm that midfielder George Moncur has joined Colchester United on a permanent basis for an undisclosed fee.
The 21-year-old has been with the U's on loan since pre-season, making 21 appearances and scoring three goals in all competitions.

Moncur, who joined the Hammers as a teenager, departs the Boleyn Ground after making two first-team appearances for the Club.

The son of former West Ham favourite John, Moncur made his debut as a substitute in a League Cup tie against Crewe Alexandra in August 2012 and his first and only start in an FA Cup third-round match at Nottingham Forest in January 2014. During his time at West Ham, he also made more than 50 Development Squad appearances and enjoyed loan spells with AFC Wimbledon and Scottish side Partick Thistle.
On his departure, Moncur thanked the Hammers for the support the Club gave him during the early part of his professional career.

"There is some sadness about leaving West Ham because I was there for a good few years and I had some great times there," he said. "My Dad spent a few years there as well so I'll miss it but I've got a new challenge in front of me now. I have got to thank the people at West Ham, especially Nick Haycock and Ian Hendon who spent a lot of time with me and improved my game.

West Ham United would like to thank George for his hard work and commitment and wish him all the very best for his future career.

He wasn't very good. Not great at passing the ball ambitiously Slow.

But I will miss him using his weight to bully opposition goalkeepers from dead ball situations...

Players don't have levels that are set in concrete.they are created by many factors.

Re: George MONCUR
All that Snipey says is spot on.
Nevertheless his development during the past two years has been stunted.

His situation is the best for him now.because of what has and hasn't been.

Re: George MONCUR
He is not far above the level at Colchester.
IMO.its a level where he can grow from.

Re: George MONCUR
My guess he is at the level he should be. He could kick on but i think his best way of playing at a higher level would be to get Colchester promoted.

Re: George MONCUR
A classy footballer whose development was stunted due to the clubs lack of direction over the past few seasons.
Geo would have offered a different option in midfield
But he will shine and he could develop into a first class premier footballer.
He is being watched by a couple of Euro sides.

Plays the religious act then goes and fills in his Mrs. Lairy boots and not much ability to show for it.

This was actually nearly on the cards a few years ago as John plays golf with a mate of mine in Laindon. According to Moncs Snr he should have been in our first team ages ago.

If the boy is anywhere near as deluded as his old man I'm glad we're shot of him.

Maybe he'll mature

Re: George MONCUR
Was never impressed by him....nowhere near as gifted as his father.

George thought he was better than he is........that's the gist of it.

Don't get why anyone wouldn't wish the lad well. He hasn't made it with us so hes trying somewhere else. Shame it didn't wirk out and he didn't make the progress some thought he would, but it's better fir everyone that he goes now than dies a seats it spence and ends up wasting years if potential development not getting first team games fir us.

Good luck George

Looks like I stand alone when I reckon he was pretty shit! Very boring footballer always sideways passes nothing forward.

Plus typical essex orange bellend not to mention that ridiculous religious act he puts on - what a cunt

Re: George MONCUR
I have been impressed whenever I've seen him, and I actually thought he was the one player who did some decent things against Forest, but we all see it differently.

Don't think we'll be regretting letting him go massively, but I reckon he'll have a better career than all of the recent lads we've let go.

The whole god thing is fucking wank though.

Re: George MONCUR
Disappointing as it always is but we've obviously got some dough for him with a sell on clause maybe ?
Only seen him play a couple of times and was impressed but I'll leave this to the experts
