David L, I only discovered Space patrol last year and watched all 30 odd episodes on youtube.

The imagination of the producers was very impressive considering it was made back in 1962.

If you like Space Patrol, get a load of Paul Starr

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lXn4z74Vxz0

A full colour pilot written by Roberta Leigh who was responsible for Space Patrol and also did Torchy the Battery Boy. Quite life-like faces using latex.

If your into this genre then go on to youtube and type in space patrol. The most surreal series I have ever seen.

Made in 1962 I believe.

Excellent, Parker locked up with Light Fingered Fred. I nearly died when Lady P says she'll drive, and then "REVERSE!"

My first taste of SUPERMARIANATION was the brilliant Supercar, featuring Mike Mercury https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Snh1b7h2sMA .
Followed by the equally brilliant Fireball XL5.
By the time Thunderbirds came along puppetry drama was all a bit passe .

So, they've released photos of Parker, Brains and Lady Peneloe.
Predictably they've managed to lose all of Parker's charm, Brains seems to have lost half of his jaw line and Lady Penelope looks like something out of TOWIE.
Spectacularly underwhelmed.

Think you would have to ask Brains on that one. Or Jeff

You could also ask why Virgel slid down backwards into thunderbird 2, then half way down the slide would turn him around the right way. Why not just down the slide forwards?

Re: 50 years ago this year: Thunderbirds Made Its Tv Debut
One thing always bugged me though.
When Alan and Scott sat on the couch to go to Thunderbird 3 they somehow swapped places between the house and the loading bay.
Never quite worked out how or why they did that???

M11 - hahaha. Brilliant.
Sort of half remember that one. (The Grandma! Didnt she have an old hat on? Both of em sweating like a Jew in a bookies?)

And didnt the titles always start/end with the ATV logo?

Autism kicking in again.
The Mole was used in the Sidewinder episode where it fell into the pit and the Mole dug it out.
And it wasn't alan and Brains stuck on the bridge it was Alan and Grandma. Alan was in a race in a car that Brains designed and the baddies nicked it and stuck them on a bridge with a bomb that would go off if they moved.
Thank me later

:-)

Seen a clip of new one comming out. It looked pretty good. Tracey Island was done as a model like the old days and the sets look like they are staying loyal to 21st centery productions. Not much in the way of CGI. But I guss that will change.

If you've not guessed I am a massive supnermarination nerdy.

Loved Thunderbirds, and Captain Scarlet and Joe 90. Also the stuff they did with real actors like UFO and Doppelganger/Journey to the Far Side of the Sun.

The older kids I knew had those Dinky Thunderbirds toys, but I was that bit too young. I did have some of the Captain Scarlet and UFO ones though.

I do remember the Mole being used in an episode but can't recall specifics. I will have to brush up, my memory is fading.
