I simply attempt to enjoy the match.

I tend to lean toward the team or club that has relevant West Ham connections.

And I also favour the underdogs

I generally approach these games as a neutral and then end up supporting one of them. For example if Mark Hughes manages one of the teams I want it to lose.

I have always supported the better style of football team and under dogs too.

I generally want whichever result I deem best for West Ham, even if it is a team I dislike. For example right now I'd want Chelsea to beat Swansea every time because they are miles above us yet Swansea are close rivals for 8th spot.

In fact if HMP put out a team of paedophiles I would be wanting them to beat spurs, and would also be supporting an ISIS eleven rather than spurs.

Might sound a bit gay but I go for the team with the nicer legs

Wouldn't use the term support as I never support anyone other than West Ham.

I do enjoy watching the underdog get a win though (Chelsea v Bradford springs to mind).

Re: How do you choose which team to "support" in a televised game when you have no allegiance?
It's a complicated trade-off of various factors.

If a Tottenham win meant we would go up a place in the table, I'd want a Tottenham win.

If a Tottenham win meant we would have a 20% chance of finishing higher, I'd want them to lose.

If a Tottenham win meant we would have a 50% chance of finishing higher, but they would also get something other than just the the three points (like European qualification) I'd want them to lose.

If a Tottenham win meant we would have a 50% chance of finishing higher, but they would get European qualification, but I didn't think they had the squad to cope, I'd want them to win.

Possibly, I'm overthinking this...

Just detest Liverpool and want them to lose every game but I don't think I've ever sat down and picked sides.

I recorded the match on Saturday and went home afterward and though I'd skip the boring bits, unfortunately this meant large section were watched at x12 or even x30 so I watched the entire match in about 11 minutes. It really was as fucking awful as watching it live. What a pile of fucking shit that game was

I wouldn't want to support either Barcelona or Real Madrid after witnessing the disgraceful behaviour of a fair number of their players last night. Overpaid creeps the lot of them.
