West end Shows
So I have become a Lovee....

Seeing many shows recently, and now hooked on them. May I recommend some if you want brownie points...

Sweeny Todd - ENO

Emma Thompson is outstanding in the Opera/Musical version of Sweeny Todd. Superb staging with the orchestra on the stage, honestly the best show in London for a long long time, maybe ever.

Gypsy - Savoy

Another superb show just opened, amazing songs, excellent staging, great story.

The Play that Goes wrong

What a superb show reminding me of old style John Cleese work. You will laugh non-stop.

Ones to avoid - Wicked (gay poo), The Nether (future of Jimmy Saville play)

Curious Incident of the dog in the night

Another superb show, which keeps your attention throughout.

Used to love a show, but it's now the only hobby that is more expensive than football.

Couldn't believe it when I got my mum tickets recently and it was over £200 for 3 tickets.

Enjoy your show in West London and post it on here .... Would love to see the show ... Even that far west ... With the kids if any good.

Re: West end Shows
The thread mentions the West end, not the West End. The use of the common rather than the proper noun means that I can include the whole of the west end of London.

Iron Duke ... Schoolboy error like those who call the whole of East London the East End.

Re: West end Shows
Yep ... waterman played the dad and Pryce the Prof. Only seen Pryce in Oliver! Saw lots of versions of that with numerous Fagins! ...I know he was in Miss Saigon but never saw that. In case I get accused of 'catching gay', not just seen musicals. Have loved productions like Woman in Black, An Inspector Calls, Twelve Angry Men etc ....need to think about the next show we book for.
