Bullshit isn't it. Once you're out of the champions league you should be out of Europe. It's a pure financial decision so not so many 'bigger' clubs aren't playing in Europe.

My big concern over last night was the lack of self-discipline. It was obvious from the outset they were going to get under our skin, and we let them. Even after the sending off players were losing it and mouthing off and we were lucky to end with 10 men. Top professionals should be able to hold their tempers and rise above that.

.
Says it all when Joey O'Brien and young Poyet take penalties over Maiga to safe the day.... What it highlighted tonight was our bad need for a striker and wingers. Maiga looked hopeless, whilst Nolan looked like a asthmatic ant. We badly need to offload them. Credit to Jarvis who run his socks off. Zarate played well but didnt create much whilst Amalfitano had a very quiet game. Much improvement needed however...job done

Having seen the first game with the youngsters involved, it's apparent that they have more discipline than the last two teams put together. We should have scored 5 or 6 from the amount of chances made and a little more luck
No pace and virtually no idea. I couldn'the see where the goals were coming from.
Tomkins of all people to get sent off is ridiculous.
Anyone can see that. I don't know why Blickling went so negative for both games.
Where the fuc* was Lee.

I was quite pleased at the number of crosses we got to make.

Agree, I can see Poyet being the first reserve DM.... Noble did himself no favours last night.

i think the truth of most things lands somewhere in between the standard Kumb and the standard WHO response.

I think that these European matches are really good for us and give the pre-season an edge that we don't normally get. Surely it can only benefit our players and bring them up to match fitness and, more importantly, match competitiveness before the premiership begins?

Anyhow, see you at Norwich on Tuesday.

Whilst I don't agree with berating individual players (esp when it turns personal and doesn't relate to their performances), I've been reading reactions on a few forums this morning and then I got to KUMB. Some of the responses to this game are unbelievable. One fella said that last night was 'a great result', that Billic got to see the team in a professional environment and that they were 'all positives'.

Another bloke said he is glad that Jenkinson is ineligible against Arsenal as it gives O'Brien a chance to stake a place in the squad (because he's played well in these Euro games). I genuinely think that some of those blokes would cry if they came on here!

judging on pre-season i think Poyet may get more game time than Noble.

He worked really hard which is appreciated but any time some quality was need , it just wasn't there.

Could he be a back-up right back, if no one wants him?

I was really disappointed in Noble last night. Not his performance but just the way he kept getting involved in petty fucking arguments.

O'Brien and Diego's pens were mammoth.

>>> Still playing Allardyce football with Allardyce players. See very little of Bilic's mark in this yet.

Well said. That was the most depressing thing about the night. First instinct for a bunch of those players still seems to be to aimlessly knock the ball forward somewhere. There was little control in our play. We did improve a little towards the very end of the match - I put that down to us being so tired we couldn't manage to play kick and rush anymore.
