"A lot of brave British men and women died to stop Poland becoming a Nazi colony."

Poland was a Soviet and Nazi colony months before the Nazis decided to go for France in 1940, and not a thing was done from the declaration of war to stop them. These are the historical facts and you simply cannot handle them. Instead you peddle the most outrageous lies that there was any strategic aim to support the UK's Polish ally in the war. There was absolutely no such sense of duty in London twards the Poles and indeed, Stalin's support of Hitler was simply ignored.

What happened following Yalta in 1945 is just a continuation of this pattern. As is most of the "poncing Pole" ideology driving Brexit today. So the Tories "requesting" the Poles' support on the extension veto is nothing short of utterly grotesque.

May I humbly suggest that only those with first hand battlefield experience have the ability to judge which nations troops are 'weak' or otherwise.

In other words, not 99.9% of you OLD BASTARDS that read a few Commando comics.

The Royal Navy DID blockade Germany's ports, that's why they were based at Scapa Flow are you suggesting the Royal Navy should have set up a blockade at the entrance to the Skaggerak?

and we did send the BEF to France, of course France had more divisions there, it was their fucking country

If you could just repeat that trick but with regard to this thread I'm sure a lot of people would be very grateful.

If you’re complaining that Britain and France took three days to declare war and come to Poland’s rescue, you really need to step away from WHO for a while, Pickle.

A lot of brave British men and women died to stop Poland becoming a Nazi colony.

The bit where you admit the UK "could do nothing" as France's ally.

How may divisions did France have on the German border?

Where was the military, political and diplomatic effort to get the French moving, the German ports blockaded and entry to the Baltic secured by the Royal Navy?

A 24 hour extension is fine with me, so long as the charlatan follows through with his promise that he'll be dead by the 31st.

I am of course joking, as if the pathological liar will ever follow through on a promise

On September 1, 1939, Hitler invaded Poland from the west; two days later, France and Britain declared war on Germany, beginning World War II. What have I missed?

Maybe the Poles should have put up more of a fight, I've always labelled them as weak as the French

Actually it was three days after the UK's treaty ally had been invaded.

What a record of loyal partnership.

I'm asking you a very simple question to check whether you have sufficient grasp of the facts to carry on this conversation.

Answer my question and then I'll answer yours if you get it right.

So are you saying it was pointless for Chamberlain to declare war on Germany on September 3rd 1939?

The lack of time is ENTIRELY down to them.

I've got the same issue at work with people fucking about wasting time on side issues then acting all surprised when a long-existing and known about deadline is suddenly only a few days away.

Fuck off with any extention, they've had more than enough time to get things sorted - it's not the nation's fault they squandered it blowing hot air out of their collective arses.

Out on the 31st THEN they can squabble over the details.
