Essex Cricket
Nice to see Essex off to a great start to the season with Cooke and Westley in superb form with the bat.

Changes forecast for the league structure so really important to push on for promotion this year.

Yes, but the outer shield has been smoothed out and 'modernised '.

Any thoughts on the new Essex CCC crest?
Personally not keen on it, don't like that fact that it doesn't say Essex on the actual shirt badge.

Re: Essex Cricket
Outstanding performance by Liam Norwell 9-62 - to cap a last day success/escape act - if he hadn't missed so much of the season through injury Warwicks might not have been in such dire straits.

Two other bonuses - something else for whingeing under achiever James Vince to moan about - and "racist" Yorks - Root, Bairstow, Fisher, Lyth et all - consigned to Div 2.

Karma or what ?

Northants 46-5 at lunch, I bet the pitch inspectors are relieved they can turn away from Chelmsford and head West instead...

Only found out this week that the Oval is part of the Duchy of Cornwall so is passed from the now King to the new Prince of Wales.

Good luck trying to take the Ashes 5th Test away from HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS.
You heartless bastard

Surrey are County Champions for the 21st time with a game to spare

Difference is we won't cry about it.

And while we're there, the oval really shouldn't be allowed to host s test match next year after the farcical circumstances of the last test of the summer

Absolutely should be. Bit of a nonsense really.

Imagine being 7/6 in your second innings after posting 131 in your first, and then going on to win the match in 2 days!

Anyway, looks increasingly like SURREY will win the title County Championship this afternoon.

Essex get their Royal London campaign on course by stuffing a very poor Kent side at Chelmsford.

Takes my mind off the shitstorm at the London Stadium or whatever it's called.

Up the Seeaxes !

Batted , TURTLE
Needs to stay opening rather than in the middle order as with two 35yo Test openers there will be opportunities for him and Henry Hunt sooner rather than later.
