West ham joke from Jug Ears on have I got news for you
The comment/joke was about students at one University not being allowed to throw their mortarboards (square hats) into the air in graduation pictures because of health and safety and that the graduates must now mime a throwing action and the hats will be photo shopped in later.
He went on to say that there was also disappointment for West Ham fans as they were told to just mime a throwing action and the bottles would be photo shopped in later.
Anyone find that funny?
Is it a fair cop, or are we being slightly hounded by the press again because we are not a so called big club?.

You can't watch this programme and expect to laugh at the piss taking that amuses you then get upset at something else.

Lineker made a decent presenter and Ross Noble was excellent, as he usually is on there.

Lineker was very decent I thought.

Good jokes about West Ham and Spurs.

It was funny. We're not Scousers FFS, why would we get offended by a joke?

The joke about Spurs fans hanging themselves was quality

Agree.

Just watched it this morning. I think Lineker made quite a good go of hosting the show.

I'd rather people made jokes about the idiots who did it than sat in some stupid righteous indignation about how awful the club is and how terrible the fans are

Is Points of View still going? I've got a good mind to write a strongly worded letter of complaint with an unsavoury noun or two about the BBC included.

I missed last night's HIGNFY. I've downloaded it on iPlayer, so I'll watch it later, in anticipation of being so terribly offended by Lineker's amusing auto-cue gag.

It made me chuckle. The joke he told about Spurs was was a little more edgy. Ross Noble was brilliant on it

Anyone offended or worked up about it needs a hard look at themselves.

Odd how they keep ignoring Liverpool fans going the same on numerous occasions.

I thought it was quite a good show & Lineker did quite a good job!
Can't stand him on MOTD though & never bother watching it these days

That Is what I said Lineker is not at fault, although my thread title came across as if he was, he is reading from an auto cue.

Wood?
Really?

All of mine were cardboard or thin plastic and a very easy (non-Photoshop) solution to the health and safety thing.

Sounds a silly tradition that should be abolished without getting Photoshop involved

Have you ever seen a mortarboard?
They are basically a plank of wood in a beanie
SHARP EDGES will have your eye out

Though funnily enough this have never happened in hundreds of years of graduates throwing them in the air.

Yes but it's not Lineker taking the piss is it, it's some wanker of a BBC scriptwriter

That much I do know scripts are written, and as Lineker is a football man they gave him some footy based jokes but am I slightly Paranoid that West Ham get treated unfairly by the media, cannot lie i sort of am.

You don't really think the presenters of HIGNFY actually write there own jokes do you.

A secret: They read of an autocue the lines and jokes written for them by a script writter.

I found the hat story interesting. What Health&Safety issue does throwing hats cause? I assume they're not Peaky Blinders Hats.
