Q: 2022 Summer Transfer Window - How many 1st team players will we sign before August 6th
a. None as Sullivan will wait until the last week before he gets his scattergun out the cupboard
b. A couple of freebies paraded as superstars, usual hype to follow
c. I'm more optimistic as surely they know we need to strengthen, 3-4 with decent money spent.
d. Who gives a toss as we have a great squad already, I've already ordered the new replica kit, socks and all and can't wait to wear it at our first game, down the pub of course, I bleed claret & blue

Is this guy still even training with us? if so where?

Surely he's in breach of contract but sitting at home on your sofa not earning a wage is a bit odd.

Re: Sakho?
Presumably the Sunderland interest has taken a knock since they lost their manager.

He has been going into Chadwell Heath / Rush Green and training in the gym.

Are teams not put off signing players with a poor attitude!!

Re: Sakho?
Lily Hammer. By 'outsider' do you mean transfer targets that we are trying to sign. O mean Valencia, Sakho and Carrol have hardly come up through the ranks have they.

And to be honest Valencia and Sakho are lightweight and injury prone ( at least Carroll isnt lightweight) and just look at what they have contributed over the last couple of seasons

Valencia 51 apps 8 goals
Sahko 43 apps 15 goals

I guess there is an argument for keeping Sakho only 12 of his 15 goals came in his first season.

Bomb them both out and get (hopefully) upgrades

Re: Sakho?
Valencia worked hard to get fit again (and again), and has got his head down and is working hard with the squad right now, which earns him some respect and he deserves good support, which might be all he needs, now he's properly fit.

This is a Sakho thread though, and in contrast to Enner's attitude, he really has to go......certainly before Valencia.

I'd keep Valencia.

Re: Sakho?

My point is, and I don't think I imagined it, Valencia has looked good whenever he was fit and on form, good enough to give premier league defenders plenty to worry about.

It's not that time and time again he's proven he's not up to PL standard; it's time and time again he's had to go through recovery of fitness and form, and usually with the pressure of all the other strikers being injured on top of all that.

Re: Sakho?
I'll be really disappointed if Valencia stays. He looks a completely broken player. He must have missed 5 sitters in the Copa America quarterfinals, and been equally bad in pre-season.

Re: Sakho?
Please stop making excuses for Valencia, he has had enough chances and shown time and time again he just isn't cut out for the Premier League. The one player I want us to sell. Sakho can go too, got no time for people who think they are bigger than the club. Good player or not (Though I think he thinks he is better than he actually is).

I'll stick this on here too....with imrpoved grammar, to boot.......

Re: Bacca done deal??
I said it the other day, but Valencis has looked good every time he's built up fitness and form, but he has again and again been unlucky (and a bit daft....the coffee mug), with nasty injuries just as he's starting to look interesting, which is exactly what has happened with Carrol.

More than Bacca or Lacazette, or any other "outsider," I'd love these two to have a fair share of luck with fitness and come good. They both have it in them. If they'd both stayed fit for the whole of last season, my inner Lord Griffiths is adamant that we would at the very least have been in the Champion's League this season.

Add Sakho to the second bit of that; if he'd been fit too, then the sky would have been the limit.

I'm not sure, even at my most forgiving, I can hope he stays and comes good, though. What could he do to make Bilic give him another chance? He's already blown a chance Amalfitano didn't get.

Re: Sakho?
Potential selling points...

- Poor recent form (2 goals since last September?)
- injury problems, including the dreaded back issues.
- behavioural problems, in the dresssing room and away from the club.
- Africa Cup of Nations coming up later this season.

The question isn't whether we get £15m imo, it's why anyone at all would be interested in the player.

Maybe I'm underestimating how desperate other clubs are.
