Pudding Mill Lane/ Stratford- trains to the ground question
Afternoon all,

Apologies for the icon, feels almost sacrilegious to use a UP photo for a post about the new stadium, but it seemed the best available. Anyway....

The whole 'Pudding Mill Lane is unavailable' thing has been discussed several times on here. We used it for Domzale (on the way back) but since then have been using Hackney Wick. Haven't used Stratford yet mainly because our entrance is closer to the Hackney Wick side but also partly because of the early reports of long queues etc.

Tomorrow night, however, we are going to be coming from around Tower Hill which makes Hackney Wick difficult and basically gives two options - Pudding Mill Lane from Tower Gateway or Stratford from Tower Hill.

Does anyone know if PML will definitely be open, and if anyone has used it more recently has your experience been that it's a good option? On the other hand, if anyone has been using Stratford since things have (hopefully) begun to improve, what has that been like - is it actually not that bad, or ala Upton Park station is it 'avoid at all costs'? I'm guessing it may be a decent option tomorrow with a smaller crowd, but as I say any input is appreciated.

Thanks.

Mile end and bow are going to be interesting.

Got off there the other night.

No hassle at all.

Could get a bit NAWTEE around there for certain games. No doubt about it.

You have to walk around the stadium past the ticket office, then down the stairs and follow the crowd from there.

Depends what direction youre coming from. If you're at stratford, ask for platform 4 (there aren't signs for it for some reason). If you're coming in on the district line get off at bow road, walk 100 yards and get on at bow church and it's one stop.

First game there were odd ones and twos using it. Last game the platform was packed.

They get off at PML bowl up the road come out from under the railway bridge and look up at the hundreds waiting for them on the Greenway.

Lots of hiding places - the police will never get it right there

Very close to the ground though

I can envisage hundreds of hammers up on the concourse waiting for the arrival of Chelsea from PML

Nightmare

Walking to the ground from PML is like walking thru a set of the Football Factory.

Oi stay away from PML

It is my own private station - has been open all the time

PML is closed on match days! and the more people know that ,the better it will be for the people that use it .

When I had my meeting to be mis-sold a seat, they said they wanted to encourage away fans to use PML and discouraged me from choosing a seat near it, despite me coming in on the DLR on that line.
It's weird using the station. I think an old time Millwall fan would get flashbacks round there.

Odd that Gavro - the club has been so assiduously factual on all things OS hitherto...

I thought it was open weeknights but not weekends until January?

I am probably wrong though.

Thanks, all. We'll be doing Hackney Wick on the way back, it's just before the game that's the issue. Will give PML a try. Worst case scenario can always stay on to Stratford I guess.

I went home via Pudding Mill Lane after the Watford game. Pretty straightforward - 10mns walk to the station (I'm in block 113 so close by) and then a few minutes wait for the DLR.
