Jack Sullivan: "the manager has the final say on all transfers."
Said this on his Twitter tonight

Bilic needs better advisors and scouts obviously. Director of football anyone?

The correct management way would be for Bilic to have the final say on all signings.

However, has anyone ever tried telling their self-made billionaire boss to "fuck off" with their recommendations? Thought not. I suspect, Calleiri's early departure indicates that he was DS's annual South American punt

We do have a good scouting set-up under Tony Henry though and I imagine he suggested some of the players to Bilic but which ones and how many is anyone's guess. Tore was we know, Bilic's choice for a while now but I suspect most of the others are from our scouting.

From what has emerged over the last few days it seems that Bilic relies heavily on all his staff for a lot of things like coaching and scouting. Perhaps he needs to get more heavily involved again before it all goes tits up...

short term i could see some sense in Redknapp, as much as i hate the man he knows the club, knows the league and is available.

>>> You have good transfer windows and bad ones. Unfo summer just gone was a bad one.

The answer to that is to have a better informed approach so that you minimise the mistakes and raise the standard. There are well run businesses and there are badly run businesses.

Unless you provide the context of his options, saying bilic had the final say with transfers isn't really revealing much.

What options was bilic given?

Piece of shit one, or piece of shit two, I suspect.

Yes you could be right, or you could read the many interviews with Les Reed who details how their system works.

You should bear in mind that I said " ... might be mistaken".

You and I are in the same boat in as much that neither of us is privvy to what goes on in the inner sanctum of major football clubs.

Ra

Cool, an you list which ones have left due to not having full control over players transfers, especially considering each would be told this when being interviewed and will no doubt also be part of their contract. cheers.

Ian Abraham's saying this morning that it is his understanding bilic didn't choose the players, only Tore as he had him at Basiktas.

Redknapp is an enemy of West Ham. If we pay him a quid I'm no supporter of the club.

They've had a few managers of late, so you might be mistaken.

Southampton's managers don't seem to resign because of it?

Any manager worth his salt would resign if he DIDN'T have final say on comings and goings.

Just laying the groundwork to throw Bilic under the bus. 'It was Slavens fault we didn't spend the money on the striker we've needed for last 5 seasons'

Sounds like someone's trying to cover his dad's arse, so Sullivan says to Bilic , couldn't get the striker , defender , and right back , you wanted because they wanted to much money, but got these from the bargain basement instead and we have no money left.
Carry on Jack son , your not fooling me.

I would take Harry all day long. Couldn't give a fuck what may have happened in the past, the whole game is bent anyway. My biggest concern would be does he have any energy left in him? If so, I think he could be ok for a season or two and may help to make the club feel a bit more like West Ham again (not everyone hates him like on here)

Re: Jack Sullivan: "the manager has the final say on all transfers."
Did he need a director of football the season before when we signed the likes of Payet and Lanzini?

You have good transfer windows and bad ones. Unfo summer just gone was a bad one. If we signed better and better players every time we would be winning the league in 5 years which we all know is completely unrealistic.

Re: Jack Sullivan: "the manager has the final say on all transfers."
owners getting their excuses well lined up for when they sack Bilic. Expect DS to claim Bilic wanted Zaza when he wanted Benteke and he didnt want Tore etc etc but Bilic demanded them.

article in the Mirror is the start........... they did this with BFS over AC, Jarvis etc.
