That is a great idea, but i think or dear owners prefer the money in their pockets rather than having true fans in the ground.

May be an obvious question, but why isn't he going to watch Brentford? I don't think he can be called a Brentford fan if he is choosing to watch another team instead just because they are in the Premier League.

Re: Today's Attendance 56,952
He may well have been on the wind up, but he seemed convincing enough about wanting to take his kid to see PL football (as you say he didn't go to Arsenal). He was your total stranger met once on the touchline so I certainly cant vouch for him!

His reckoning was he would have to pay £100 per game for the two of them elsewhere, including WHL, provided that he could get a ticket. This way he's guaranteed a ticket and getting value if they go half a dozen times which they intend to do.

Brentford fan explained pretty much the same logic. He would love to see top PL games half a dozen times a season or more, but cost and ticket availability are an issue - not anymore. As an aside, he said he used to share a Fulham ST with his mate for the same reasons when they were in the PL.

Sue, so the spurs fan couldn't afford to go to whl but paid out 400 quid to watch the top teams which included arsenal as you said but he didn't even bother to go to watch when we played arsenal. I think hes telling you porkies.

It's a bit strange that we supposedly have all these 'tourist fan's and yet they don't want a cheap seat to see a big team like Man City. I wasn't going to go but the tickets that cheap I changed my mind.

Sue Perdupa 12:36 Tue Dec 20
Re: Today's Attendance 56,952
I did make that point - they hadn't looked into it because they presumed it would be a hassle and they felt they were getting good value anyway.

Both also said that they don't intend to renew next season and that they see this as a one-off treat for them and their kids.

master 12:33 Tue Dec 20
Re: Today's Attendance 56,952
that can easily be corrected next year. if they've attended less than 35% of games they shouldn't be allowed to renew (exceptional circumstances withstanding on a case by case basis).

Spurs fan said he couldn't afford to go over WHL very often and this was a better option as his boy could see all the top teams.

Brentford fan said it was the only affordable way for him to see PL football in London.

They both said they couldn't care less about ticket exchange and have never used it.

Bizarre to be so concerned about cost then not get back money when you can

Re: Today's Attendance 56,952
I met a couple ST holders at my boy's U6 game over the weekend. One was a Spurs fan and one Brentford. The Spurs fan has not set foot in the stadium as yet. The Brentford fan has been once.

When I asked them about it, they said the same thing. c£400 for them and their kid to see Spurs, Arsenal, Man Utd, Chelsea, Man City, Liverpool is a steal so why would you not get one?

That's both the current state of our club and modern football I'm afraid - grounds full of neutrals.

I'm bringing my sons entire u13s team to the man city match. Looking at ticket sales it will be kids, newham residents and empty seats.

Official attendance 99,999

In terms of people showing up? Probably not.

So did we have the biggest attendance of the weekend then?

Re: Today's Attendance 56,952
Funniest t hing was the Burnley game was our record attendance and lowest attendance at the same time.

We need the 50,000 waiting list lot earlier than expected, alas they ain't doing the Man City tourists cup game

Re: Today's Attendance 56,952
Marston - it's just how they're allocated. You'd need to buy a membership either way due to the demand, so it's not like the ballot system is making them extra money.

It'll feel unfairer to those who didn't struggle to get tickets last year, but this makes it a more open field for more. And that's the point.

It is bad for overseas fans due to not being able to plan. I hope they find a way around that, although if (for example) they reserve a number of tickets for them I'm sure you can imagine how mental some on here will go.

On The Ball 5:14 Mon Dec 19
Re: Today's Attendance 56,952
So how is it a scam then? You acknowledge the need for membership, yet also claim it's a scam?

How is the way the tickets are allocated a scam, exactly?

Marston Hammer 5:14 Mon Dec 19
Re: Today's Attendance 56,952
apart from being unable to plan too far in advance (so bad for overseas fans) is it really a big deal?

do any members on here feel much worse off? and are the club making lots more money than if they were using the same system as last year?

Johnson 5:11 Mon Dec 19
Re: Today's Attendance 56,952
I wasn't disputing the need for membership, how many more times do I have to point that out you thick cunt?

I was disputing the need for a ballot for EVERY game, something Man Utd with a much much bigger demand than us only feel the need to do four times for league games.

On The Ball 4:49 Mon Dec 19
Re: Today's Attendance 56,952
You mean the memberships they'd need to buy even if they did it last season's way?

Johnson 4:46 Mon Dec 19
Re: Today's Attendance 56,952
I hadn't noticed it until I went in to the FAQs as the games I was checking weren't one of those four.

Point remains for the vast majority of games they do not feel the need to use it, we do, for Burnley at home.

It's a scam to force people to buy memberships to enter a lottery for tickets. Not thinking about fans at all, just money.

I dont mind people not going. Loads of available seats in the lower tiers now. Have watched the game down there and enjoyed it much more.
