Reflexology, anyone
Wondering whether to give this a go, having sore feet and lower legs and ankles as I'm on my feet most of the day. I wear different pairs of shoes, swapping them every other day rather than sticking to one pair which is supposed to help but still have problems.

The bird said that you drink alot of alcohol, I said yes but only a few drinks here and there, I asked how can she picked up on that? Her response was, 'your feet stink of alcohol'. Actually I did lie about the amount I drank.
Was the only thing they did get right. Never went back.

Re: Reflexology, anyone
I was going out with a hippy chick when I first got arthritis and soon learned it was easier to go and see these cranks than argue about it. She would piss and moan that I 'didn't really want to get better'.

She ended up dragging me around to see all these 'really spiritual' people (what the fuck does that even mean?) and it made me even more cynical than I was already.

Pressure points on the soles of your feet that effect other parts of your body and organs? That's fifty quid please sir.

Banging gongs over your body to find your sympathetic resonance? Another fifty.

Reiki healing, osteopathy, people possessed with two-thousand year old doctors practising from a spiritualist church in Wimbledon?

Strangely and magically the only thing that helped was totally free at the point of needing it. Western medicine delivered by the NHS.

You can stick your magnetic belts, copper bracelets and all the other snake-oil up your arse. These people are preying on the desperately ill and nicking a fucking good living out of it.

I don't just mean the desperately ill come to think of it- I also mean pretty, self-obsessed rich girls with nothing particularly wrong with them.

Cranks and rats, the fucking lot of them.

I injured my neck and shoulder playing rugby aged 31. I tried a number of treatments and found reflexology the most effective.

You just can't help yourself, can you Ratched.

It's a compulsive disorder you've got. You know that, don't you?

When are you going to pluck up the courage to ask the karate instructor if you can have a turn?

Foot massage on sofa is standard evening procedure in the Pickle household.

I'd have thought this was pretty normal.

I prescribe a nice cup of tea and a sit down, followed by some time off doing some more sitting down. You're working too hard.

When you gave her the magic head massage did you use the oil of Aphrodite and the dust of the grand wazoo? Did you cure her asthma, too?

;-)

Re: Reflexology, anyone
I did Indian head massage on a 'female companion' Saturday night, judging by the moaning noises she was making I'm guessing it works.
Mind you as your feet are detached from the rest of the body, massage or reflexology doesn't work there as intelligent posters on WHO say it doesn't.

Thanks for the sensible replies folks!
I do much more running about than the average McDonalds worker Mr Gavros and longer shifts! (An HCA on a mental health ward)

Re: Reflexology, anyone
Couldn't recommend it more, not sure it'll help with the sore/feet legs but it'll pep you up.
The old woman who used to do me retired ages ago and I've been looking for a new person, most of the women don't do blokes for some reason.

My advice is pack in the job at mcdonalds and find yourself some sit down office work.

If I were in your shoes, well boots to be precise, I would try emptying the fruit out first.

Praying may help.

May give you sore knees instead, though...
