I expect strikers to score goals. That’s what they’re fucking paid King’s ransoms for.

Re: Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez - signed
I didn't say that was luck. It was a well executed bit of skill. But the goals needed some luck to beat the keeper.
What we saw (performance wise) from Anderson was BARE MINIMUM what we should be seeing from a 40 million man.

My main point is that certain people decide they like certain players, and dislike others, and their judgement of their contribution is coloured by that bias, instead of giving credit where credit's due.

That volley he hit from the free was luck as well was it ?. He scored 2 and hit a cross field to Antonio for the last goal (Vision)

MOTD were raving about his performance, hes improving and fitting in thats the main thing

"Donkey", you say.
His shot FIZZED past Hart.

Unlike Anderson's two tame shots straight at Hart.
One going through his legs, the other taking a wicked deflection past him.
BOTH lucky.

Until he came on me had no-one in the goal box, loads of possession and great passing but no end result as we were missing the cliche fox in the box, unless Pop Robson makes a comeback Hernandez is the nearest we've got, hopefully- should boost his confidence sricking one in the net today

He scored from the bench when we were winning. He’s a fucking useless donkey.

Great finish today.

That's what he's there for. Not to forage around on his own.
Supply him with chances, and we'll prosper.

Should never had signed him, a typical shitcunt west ham signing. Inevitable it would fail.

Re: Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez - signed
Hernandez has failed under three different managers who all differ in their playing styles.

Which begs the question what manager has the style of play to suit him?

Re: Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez - signed
Arnautovic is kind of a mixture of Carroll and Hernandez, big and strong and a good finisher. You can tell that he isn't a natural striker, but is getting better and better.

We do need a ready made replacement for him though and sadly Carroll or Hernandez aren't suitable

Nonsense Rossal.

Re: Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez - signed
caroll lacks pace so he isnt totally effective as a lone striker.
however, compared to hernandez it's light and day difference. Caroll has better feet, can head the ball, can play back to goal (just dont ask him to make a forward run after he's layed it off).

If Caroll were faster and didnt get as many injuires he would honestly be one of the best strikers in Europe. But he isnt fast, and hes always injured so thats that.

Rossal 2:54 Thu Nov 1
Re: Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez - signed
Carroll is even worse at playing the lone striker role than the Pea

Laughable to say we've missed him, even ore laughable to suggest he'll stay fit for longer than 3 days

Unfortunately, he is not the right player for us. Good player, but not for us.

He’s been a flop.

What’s surprised me is his shit attitude. He needs to fucking get some perspective - realise he’s paid a fortune to run and kick a ball.

Flog the old tripe at the next window.

Re: Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez - signed
Carroll is back soon, been sorely missed. Just hope he can stay fit for more than a handful of games this time 😀

Jack, can't remember 3 chances for him last night? All our chances were more half chances as you said, all a bit frenetic. We don't seem to create good chances for him, mostly crosses and set pieces.
We simply don't play to his strengths and our style of play does not suit him at all. The way we play is still much more suited to Carroll forcing the issue from crosses etc. Even when Arnie plays it rarely produces goals and victories.

Re: Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez - signed
He needs to be moved on, we can't seem to get the best out of him and he's taking up too much of the wage budget.

The team looks toothless up top when Arnautovic doesn't play, and I reckon he might need an op on his knee that will seem him miss a decent chunk of the season. So we need a good back up.

Re: Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez - signed
Seems decent enough playing for his country with another striker

He's poor at "leading the line" as a single striker as he can't hold the ball up & easily gets dispossessed

Looks to me to be just going through the motions as if he wants out to me

He had about three half decent chances last night & didn't come close to scoring from any

For a "fox in the box" player, you'd expect a better return

We currently only have one striker who can threaten the opposition & he's clearly carrying an injury

We urgently need to unload some of the deadwood, Hernandez, Carroll & Antonio & get a quality striker in
