Declan Rice signs new long-term contract

West Ham United is delighted to announce that Declan Rice has signed a new long-term contract until summer 2024, with a further one year option for the Club to extend.

The outstanding Rice, who turns 20 in January, has committed his future to the Club he joined as a 14-year-old schoolboy.

The teenager, who has been in fantastic form in recent months and passed 50 first-team appearances in December, is looking forward to continuing his flourishing career in Claret and Blue.
Joint-Chairman David Sullivan, who was instrumental in finalising the deal, was thrilled to secure Rice’s services for the next five-and-a-half years.

Must admit I not really care what Country he plays for. I do however find it amusing that the Press are wheeling out ex Ireland Players to criticise him
Andy Townsend (born in the Irish Village of Maidstone Kent)
Micky Quinn (Born in Liverpool and had Italian Grandparents)

My personal Opinion is you can only play for the country you was born in (Regardless of where your long last Aunties 2nd cousin was born)

I seem to remember that there was calls for Paolo Di Canio to be called up to the England Squad (Think he was eligible due to length of time in UK and never having played for Italian National Team)

'he dont play for the top 6 so he wont get called up'

That's bollocks. Of the 25 man squad picked v Croatia, 10 were from teams outside the top 6.

That's not actually a lie is it Gav?

Which is strange, because you of all people should know one when you see it.

Miike,

Declan C&P:

March 20, 2018 (After winning Ireland U19 Player of the Year award):

"There's no decision to be made. I have not had a call from the FA and England have never wanted me at under-age level - it's always been Ireland.”

Re: Declan Rice signs new long-term contract
so am i, what? you mentioned poaching players, I said you've specialised in doing it from the other british countries so it's not new to england. how would I know why he was never picked by the FA. they have a long history of being clueless, useless cunts

That's it, mate. When shown to be wrong run for the cover of a spelling mistake.

This 'top 6' accusation is one that could be levelled at many England managers. Southgate, not so much.

Miike,

So am I. Why didn't England pick him at underage level?????

Takashi Miike 9:01 Thu Feb 14
Re: Declan Rice signs new long-term contract
I'm talking about schoolboy level. you mentioned poaching players, you've nicked plenty of scottish born players over the years so it's hypocrisy even bringing up poaching

In the absence of Kane the first name on the team-sheet will be Harry McGuire.

Are there any English CBs at top 6 clubs?

'he dont play for the top 6 so he wont get called up'

Our keepers are likely to be Pickford, Butland and Heaton, right?

How many England get togethers before he's off, sadly it is now inevitable

Atleast we know he wont be quick to switch allegiance when a better team comes in for him.
